It does not get the tarnish off, but it does appear that it has put a protective coating on some of my jewelry. So far so good only time will tell.

I have some jewelry that I really like and purchased this protection to keep prestige from the time I got it. I follow the instructions. I did two layers of this product on my copper ring, wait 24hrs to make sure is all dry. I use the ring every day, on the third day I saw some black spots on the ring, which it was the oxidation. I cleaned the ring really well, removed the oxidation and did two new layers with the product. After two weeks wearing the ring the layers of the product started to come of from the ring. Unfortunately it did not seal my ring against oxidation.

If you are putting this on an item sitting on a shelf, it should be good. If it’s for small jewelry, should also be good. I was trying to put it on a vintage Tiffany and Co. compact. INSTANT REGRETS. It’s almost like a nail polish coating very plastic feeling. It says it levels off, but it honestly is like nail polish where you can see the streaks in certain light if you get up close to it. I wont be able to stand it if I had to hold it every day. It was still wet and tacky after 30 minutes, so I decided to clean it off with 100% acetone and luckily it came off no damage. I would rather deal with tarnish and cleaning that than having this on my compact. What I have in the picture is all it came with, no extra instructions or tips.
