I have now bought 5 of these switches. They work great to break out a 10G backbone in the home. The 10G SFP+ works great. I have a 2gig fiber drop, and these serve as my distribution around the house after the router.These are unmanaged so they can work as a 10G media converter without messing up the MAC address.

Powers my TP-Link Omada through PoE+ seemingly fine. Provides Ethernet to my PC through non-POE measures.

Just plugging in the unit and the fan comes on and it doesn't turn off. There's not even any load on it yet and it's in a cool environment at probably 65°. I'm sure it's great as a POE switch but the noise is a little bothersome. There's probably no thermostat attached to the fan.

I specifically bought this because I wanted a small light and quiet switch that is able to provide Poe plus power to two access points. This switch did exactly that and as a bonus provides me with some extra 2.5G ports to play with.I am impressed with the solid metal housing, and that the unit barely gets warm even when powering a couple of Poe+ devices and several unpowered gigabit devices. I also appreciate that the power supply is built into the unit, although this does cause the body to be a bit bigger.I will be trying the SFP+ capability in the future but have not had a chance yet.Review update: After connecting a single 10G device I started noticing that the 10G device seems to disconnect approx. once per day. I haven't completed exhaustive testing but have reverted that device back to a 1G link and will watch for any further disconnects. I believe I saw one other reviewer mention 10G instability so I have to knock a start off of my review until such time that I can verify the SFP+ ports work without disconnect issues.

I bought this switch because it's dimensions fit perfectly inside a mini 10" rack, and I wanted 2.5 Gbps PoE to power all the SBCs and PoE devices in my rack.It fits perfectly, and runs great (haven't tested the 10G SFP+ ports yet though) and silent. Only uses maybe 10W total in addition to the Pis it's powering in my rack (total rack power draw for 4 Pis and this box is about 26W at idle).The only problem I have is the box comes with two half-length rack ears for mounting into a standard 19" rack. I bought a 'Pelopy' Universal Rack Mount Bracket kit, thinking it would fit, but I had to drill out part of the universal brackets to be able to screw it into the mini rack (I used the screws that came with the GigaPower to attach the Pelopy kit, they worked fine).It would be amazing if GigaPower made 10" rack mount ears, even if it was a separate $10 addon!

I'm not sure what is going on with the listing for this item. The item I chose and received was a 5 port passive switch rated at 100/1000 Mbps bandwidth. When I click the picture, it is taking me to a listing for a 6 port 2.5 Gbps with 10Gbps SFP uplinks. Just to be clear, I'm reviewing the 5 port 1Gbps switch.It seems well constructed and functions as well as most other switches in the same price bracket, so I am content with it. For a simple home network that's wired with cat5e, this is more than sufficient. For other scenarios, like a larger business network, you probably want something with more ports and bandwidth and possibly a managed switch. For your average Joe trying to make a small home network, this is a pretty good little network switch that gets the job done.

Working as advertised. Nice price and they get the published speeds. 10gig DAC and SFP+ work. No problems on my end.
