These mesh inserts are so perfect for plant pots that have a large drainage hole on the bottom - you want all soil and rocks to stay in, water stay in and only slowly be released to prevent overwatering or root rot - the mesh insert is the perfect answer. They are very thin and lightweight but sturdy enough for long term use and re-use. I will be stocking this item in my garden shed so I always have available for every pot I start. It's amazing what such a little item can do for a better garden experience.

I love a hanging flower basket, but the watering is constant during the summer. This insert will enable me to take a day off between waterings!!

It gets so hot and humid here that some plants need water everyday. I have lost plants to dried out hanging baskets before. I often plant my baskets with a layer of plastic hidden underneath, so this should work well. Inserts are pretty thick and should last many seasons in the absence of UV light.

These really help keep my coco lined flower baskets and window boxes from drying out. Each dish will hold almost 3/4 cup of water before it touches the black screen and then almost another 1/2 cup before it overflows. The two pieces make them easy to clean, if necessary.

I have never used a tray at the bottom (inside) of my container /basket. I have used water retention fabric in my pots. I am an avid gardener and a pretty good one, I am passionate about gardening and am always game to try new stuff . In the summer I do a huge container /basket garden on my deck .These trays sound great but I am of the opinion they will be better for baskets because they are on the small side and my containers are 15-20 inches in diameter. I do 6 baskets (16 W x 8 depth) and will update this summer BUT I think they are going to work GAME ON !
