I have a 12 ft above ground Intex pool, and this has about twice the output of the filter that comes with the pool. It's great if you want to add a fountain or waterfall attachment to the pool, or if you just want to keep the pool a little bit cleaner. The timer built into it works very well and the LED lights are a nice accent.

I love the clear housing, so you can check the status of the filter and confirm water flow. And the LED lights are fun.This kit has everything you need, including hoses and fittings. However the hoses are on the short side, so it requires placing the pump/filter right next to the pool. You can use longer hoses, or mend them with your old hoses if you wish.This filter is washable and reusable. They typically say replace monthly, but if you're diligent you can make it last the summer. It's a Type II filter, also called Type B. They're inexpensive and easy to find.A 1000 GPH pump is good for pools up to 5000 gallons. The title may confuse some people, seems to imply it's only for 1000 gallon pools. So this would work for up to 14 or 15 foot round pools.
