This will age me considerably, but,a telescope was one of the best gifts I was given as a child, next to my first book box. While it didn’t make me want to become a scientist, since my heart was set on Graphic Design and Illustration, it did make me want to learn more about the world. It also lead to going to the Liberty Science Center with my friends to see a glimpse of what the future had in store for us. That being said, this is way more advanced than what was around in the early 90s for kids, especially with the USB C and modern screen support. The ability to take 2 megapixel photos with a few different flash settings is also pretty impressive. After that, you can transfer your photos to a Mac, or PC, to view your nature photos which is an added advantage that gives this functionality that goes beyond simply looking at the 6 included nature slides. This is also very thoughtful gift that’s better than simply handing a child a cell phone, or video games. If you take your kids, or nephews to the Science Center, and then couple it with a gift like this, it’ll go a long way in terms of creating a memorable learning experience for them that you’ll always remember.

The handheld microscope comes in a pink dinosaur case that adds to a child’s imagination. The side holding strap helps for a more steady view and minimizes the possibility of the microscope from falling on the ground. The microscope has a maximum zoom range of 1000 times and will open up a whole new world to kids. Included are 6 sample slides of various items (pigeon feather, agar, carnation stem and more) to help get the kids get started. The microscope is easy to navigate through the various screens and buttons. Our granddaughter loves the microscope and we had fun together exploring our backyard. We are satisfied with this product and it was at a fair price.

This is such a cool device!!! I want to start off by saying that my kiddo is in love with science and loves seeing things up close and examining things and everything in between looking at things and doing science Experiments. We have a different microscope that she had originally gotten, but it was limited to inside, more specifically what was on the slides. My kiddo is very much so on the go and loves to be exploring all over the place. I think that, although this microscope did come with several little slides for us to look at and they were super cool, the fact that she could put this microscope on any item and see it up close and adjust it for focus zoom in zoom out and take pictures of what she was looking at that she could save and printed out was so cool! This is great because not only does it Keep my kiddo wanting to learn more, but she is able to compare threads of blankets or Her car seat versus the car threads and how they’re different and look up close at anything. The picture quality is so incredibly clear! She then asks questions that help her mind expand that much more. This is so incredibly cool! You have got to get on of these for your kiddos!

This is so cute! I'm so tired of the kinds of gifts available for kids today. In a culture of increasing isolation disguised as interaction with the larger world, it's nice to find something to encourage kids to do something off-screen and, especially, outside. Ok, this has a screen, but it allows kids to engage with their environment, helping them to be present in a way that phones, computers, and tablets do not. I wish I had something as good as this when I was a kid. This was a gift for my niece and it seemed to be a hit. Don't let the size and the cuteness fool you. It's a nice little piece of machinery that was a gift that I feel good about giving. The sample slides are a good way to get their interest going right out of the box, and the USB connection allows kids to integrate with the now-familiar online environment by saving and sharing what they see and learn. Now, rather than burying themselves in a screen, they can look around them for the next thing to look at a bit more closely. I'm glad I found this!
