100w may have been excessive but it works great definitely for a big space. Or maybe a dimmer might work.

The one I got has loose wires. Sometimes it won't turn on unless I jiggle the power cord. That's no good. I'm going to send it back and get another one, but definitely be sure you test yours before the return period is up.

These black lights work great. They are stronger than the average black light bulb. The panel shape with the hinged mount make them easy to put just about anywhere. While they would be great in a dance club or for a party, we got them to create cyanotype exposure boxes - an alternative photographic process. They work perfectly.

I would recommend this get mounted somewhere out of reach of guests if you are using it for a party. It does get warm. I think people believe led's don't get warm, but some do more so than others. This has a great bracket that can be hung or used as a base and angled. It does what black lights should do, make bright colors fluorescent and whites, purple. I'm using mine for a Halloween haunted house party. This will work out perfectly. Plug in an outlet a bonus, inline switch. Folds down and packs away well for next year's use.

**Couple of warnings right off the top. DO NOT stare into or look directly at the LEDs when they are on. **CAUTION Black Light will become hot to touch through normal use. DO NOT touch the back of the light housing when in use.Good product, those warnings can be found on the box but just want to express the importance of them before endorsing a product.Brightness/Room Coverage-this is the smallest unit they make 40 watts and it throws UV light a distance, easily covers one room, probably closer to a gymnasium no joke. High intensity LED chips.IP66-Good for Indoor Outdoor use especially in the yard lighting up Halloween decor and costumes. Waterproof meaning It can be sprayed directly with water not used underwater.Power Cord-Good gauge wire size, suitable for it's intended use. Insulated with ground style plug. Quality ON/OFF switch built into the power cord.Quality Construction-Made mostly of cast aluminum the main case has fins on the back to help dissipate heat that is generated by the LEDs. Nice mounting bracket comes attached to the outer frame of the light. Feels very durable front to back.Value-I feel like this Black Light is a good value for the money. It's super powerful, wide angle of light output 160°. Quality built.5 Stars just be aware it produces heat that may be too hot to touch once on for ten minutes. Just to update this review after some time of use. The aluminum back gets Hot. Everything works but the heat produced off the back of the housing becomes too hot to touch.Thank you.

Have seen the results on film. Thought I'd try my hand at black light photography/videography. Purchased an assortment of colored neon tape to see what colors show up best with different settings on my cameras and cell phone. Not staring at UV light for a long time seems obvious. Not so obvious is the amount of heat generated by the LEDs. Must have to do with the wavelength because I can run LED white light forever and it never gets hot to the touch. Will have to be extra careful if I use it inside or where people unfamiliar with it might touch it intentionally or accidentally.
