The blades are ground with both a primary bevel and a secondary bevel close to the edge. The blades are razor sharp and ready to go.

If the old blades have never been removed, loosening the old blades can be a bit of a fist fight. After that the re-assembly with the new ones will be easy if you've notes the way the old ones came off. You really do need the original equipment guides to accurately aline them while tightening the bolts. Careful alignment and patience will get you a cut that's even and flat. The new blades worked well.

These blades were junk. They looked like they were ground by someone using a file. I threw these right in the scrap pile.

Sorry to say but I ordered two sets of these and both of them The Cutting surface was warped. I don't know what happened to quality control but it did not exist on the two sets I ordered. I ended up going with an off-brand and they were straight and appear to be holding up quite nicely. I sure hope Freud gets this situation under control because it's unacceptable to have planer blades that have 30 thousands of a Warp on The Cutting surface from side to side.
