Broken. This is not a starting tap but a rethreader. This picture shows tapping into 5/8 stainless steel bolt M10 X 1.5 pitch, trying to make an adapter for LIKE China Makita grinder/polisher with M10 X 1.5 pitch thread. Very time-consuming trying remove broken piece in bolt
