Used this tap to fix damaged threads on the fuel inlet of my carburetor. Worked like a charm! No more fuel leak. My tap and die set did not contain a tap this large so this tool was the perfect buy.

It was said to be a course thread tap but it was a fine thread tapSo it didn’t work at all - it was a waste of money for me

Yes, I just finished my job last night and the tool worked great as expected. It has a 5/8ths inch shank and I just happened to have a 5/8ths chuck for the tailstock on my lathe so that I could tap the piece I was threading horizontally.I used the mead-stock chuck to rotate the workpiece free hand while I left the tailstock unclamped while applying sufficient pressure till the tap would feed on its own. I would recommend about one third turn or less followed by just a bit more backwards per each turn to break the chips which may tend to pack toward the end if tapping a 'blind hole' . . . all in all, everything worked out just fine.
