These are advertised for multiple uses so I didn't really lower my rating, but the range is ridiculously wide for aquarium use. That's all that I am planning to use these on since I have about 18 tanks set up right now. The colors are easy to see, more so than others I've had that are specifically for fish tanks, so that's a bonus. They're really inexpensive as well, so I'm happy, but I'd really rather see the range of about 70-96 extended over the whole length. I suppose I could trim them and make them into little mini thermometers lol. With the larger steps, it's a little harder to determine a super accurate reading, but once I have my heaters set, the tank water doesn't fluctuate much. I mainly wanted them to detect heater failures at a glance, since I only had thermometers on about half of my tanks. I normally use a laser thermometer to check the temps while I'm doing water changes, but these will let me feel a bit more secure being able to notice a heater failure more easily. I applied one crooked by accident, and I was able to remove it with a razor blade and peel it off without damaging the material, but I don't think they're designed to be removeable and adjustable. Luckily the adhesive seems to be just right. Thanks for the opportunity to give these a try.

These do have many uses. I have one in my car to see just how hot it gets in there (it's an older car and the air conditioning doesn't work). They're also good for keeping track of the temperature of a ferment, like kombucha. You can also use them when sprouting seeds to keep an eye on the greenhouse temp to make sure it doesn't get too hot or cold.I can't speak to the accuracy of the strips, I didn't have a accurate thermometer handy to check. But when I took them all out of the package, they were showing the same temperature which is a good sign. I've gotten packs like this before where there would be a couple dead ones, these were all good.
