This kit has everything to make these cute coasters. Included are the pre-printed fabric, yarn, punch needle, threader, snips, hoop, sticky backed felt and instructions, plus QR codes to scan to learn by video. Well, I am enjoying doing this punch kit BUT boy do I need to practice to get a nice even tension! For some reason, I don't remember this being a problem years ago - but my memory may faileth me. LOL. This is a great kit to practice on and still use when finished. If your tension isn't as good or you haven't filled in as well as you wanted, that's ok because you'll be using these as coasters anyway. I am really enjoying doing this set. Maybe by the time I'm done with all, I'll have a good, even tension. This is a great set for beginners and for folks like me that did it once and need a lot of brush up to get good at this craft again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

For the money, this kit offers a ton of projects that will allow for hours of activity.The kit is ok for beginners, but the needle is a little snug and does not allow for the smoothest flow of yarn, a very slightly larger needle may be better suited.The instructions are ok but do not talk about technique which makes a big difference. The video is not useful as it just shows the projects being worked.The felt backing is nice and sticky, but they are square, so you will need cut them into rounds which is a little annoying because you will need better scissors which will get gunked up and you will have to hope they are round.The yarn will need to be wound into balls or it may tangle and cause inconsistent loops.The yarn colors are nice and saturated, it is not the greatest ever yarn, but it is great for this sort of project.Overall, the price is great compared to other kits, everything arrives nicely in a box that makes it great as a gift for you or a yarny friend or relative.

This is a great set for beginners, like myself. I had a hard time following the directions, so I found a video on YouTube, and was on my way!I'm still working on completing my first project but this kit contains everything you need! Embroidery hoop to hold/stretch the fabric, yarn and the puncher!I'm still learning, but this is a great kit! Even great for a gift.

This is a good kit for beginners like me. I have a long history of crafting, including crochet and cross stitch, so it wasn't all new to me. I was able to get things set up for the project and actually get a good start using the written instructions included. Threading the needle took me a while to get, and fine tuning the punching motion also took a while, but at the end of about an hour of working on it I generally had uniform, attractive stitches. Still a lot to learn but I've done it enough to know I'll be continuing with the hobby. The kit is a good value for the money considering all the materials included. I will add that there are a lot of beginner videos on YouTube to help if you get stuck. I think anyone interested in crafting will enjoy this. I think kids 12 and older could handle the kit with a little guidance initially, and a 10 or 11 year old with someone beside them guiding them. I would have been over the moon to get this as a pre-teen. The only real negative to me is that the gridded fabric (called Aida cloth, also used for cross stitching) is not very tightly woven so sometimes the stitches don't stay well in place. It gets better as you improve.

This is a fun set for a beginner, although there is a bit of a learning curve, and it is essential to watch an instruction video before starting. All the designs are very cute and colorful. But my 11-year-old grandniece and I disagree on which side ends up being the "right" side of the pieces when you are finished. Is it the flatter side which faces you when you are working on the project? Or is it the fluffier back side?

This is a cute kit that includes everything needed to create several needle-punched coasters. Everything is attractively packaged, and everything from the felt underlayment to a nice lightweight yarn in many colors is included.My teen, who has some prior experience with needle-punching, gave it a go. The bottom line is that while it is a nice kit, the plastic embroidery hoop has made the process frustrating, because the fabric slips and loosens, which makes it very easy to accidentally pull the yarn out of the punched areas. We will likely be getting a standard wood hoop and trying again.This is very nearly a 5-star product!
