works fine.It is made out of aluminum is the reason it's less than half the price of sturdier models.More importantly, it was NOT an exact replacement for our MTD 25 ton log splitter.The MTD hp fitting "looks" like it's 1/2" NPT but IT IS NOT. It is a proprietary thread that is close.We used it on the Amazon pump and it blew out immediately, 3 gallons of fluid everywhere what a mess.Because it's aluminum, we had to take it to a shop and they re-tapped it (to repair the blow-out) and changed the fitting to a standard fitting which goes with the Amazon pump.Be careful if you're replacing on an MTD splitter.(the pump itself is fine)

Used this pump to replace the OEM pump on a troy bilt log splitter. Easy to replace and works great so far.

My 6.5 HP log splitter quit working , had to buy a new pump. Wasn't sure if this would perform but it does a great job. The MTD replacement pump was rediculasly expensive , this one works

Beware! There are no instructions or marking as to where hoses are to hook up. Contacted seller to have them forward a diagram. So far they have ignored my request.
