We use these on our kitchen sink to hold dirty dishes and then wash them. Very thick and sturdy, although they do absorb color from spaghetti sauce and other tomato-based products. After a while when it gets too stained to get clean, we recycle the white tub to another use in the house and put a new one in the kitchen.

My trusty rubbermaid rectangular dish tub has - after 40 years - bit the dust. I dropped it, and after all these years, the plastic has become brittle, so it landed on the corner and cracked. This is rubbermaid's current version, so with how well the previously one lasted, I am a loyal customer. I congratulate rubbermaid for understanding that if something lasts well, they should continue making it. Customers who are happy with one item and how it lasts, will seek out other products made by that company, so they will be return customers, just buying different items if the initial product lasts well. And eventually they will want to replace it with exactly the same product. The first version of this tub, and how it has performed perfectly all this time, is the reason most of the plastic in my home is rubbermaid, and it is all performing as I expect Rubbermaid to perform. So Kudos Rubbermaid! The new tub feels like a slightly different plastic, stiffer and a slightly thinner gauge. So maybe a new and improved plastic version? It is exactly the same rectangular shape with rounded corners - looks like the same mold, but this one is 2915 22, the old one is 2915 18, the old one was beige, this one is white. I prefer the beige, as everything I have is cream/beige, but apparently they are not making the beige color right now, we are in a recession, after all, so most companies have reduced their production options. The old one was smoothly finished, all the molding seams were removed so that it was completely smooth, the new one is not smooth, the molding seams are still present. I will need to polish off the molding seams. So, this is a cost savings to keep prices down, but as a customer, I would have paid more to have them finish it perfectly, like they did on the older one. I am sure the process of cleaning up the mold seams takes them seconds with the right equipment, but it will take me much longer, so not efficient use of my time, better to pay them. I do applaud them for trying to keep costs reasonable.I am absolutely delighted to be able to purchase this product a second time, and if I last that long, I will buy it again. In the meantime, I am an even more loyal Rubbermaid customer because of their consistency in providing products that last, so I can spend my money in OTHER products they make rather than a constant need to replace things that wear out quickly - in which case I would be looking for another brand. So keep with the long range planning Rubbermaid! I love these products!

I like these dishpans. The only drawback: They were pricey when I bought them and they're higher now.

I live on the 3rd floor of an older condo with no floor overflow drain. I would turn water on to fill the sink and forget water was running, thus the sink overflowed and entered units below me. Procured 11.4 QT White Plastic Rectangular Dish Pan, whereas I wash dishes in the pan and when filling the pan any water that overflows drains to the kitchen sink drain. Problem solved!

I tried to find a dish pan locally and guess what: no stores carry them any more. Believe me I checked them all- Guess everybody eats fast food, uses paper plates or has a dish washer. Soooo...I had to order one. Actually two. They actually last me a long time but if something happens I'll have one in stock. The pan is good quality ( a Rubbermaid ) and fits a standard size sink well. BUY IT!

A replacement for the two dishpans we use every day (or several times a day) that we've had for at least 6 years. These don't have the extended handles the old ones did but work every bit as good.
