This set comes in a nice carry/storage case that is clearly marked with the size of each stripped bolt removal socket. These use a 3/8" drive, which you'll need to supply yourself, so you'll want to make sure your socket set contains a 3/8" rachet or that you have a 3/8" adaptor. The set seems to be made well and should last for years to come. Unless you are doing a lot of work removing bolts, you likely won't need something like this often, but will sure be nice to have when it is needed.

If you encounter stripped and/or rounded bolts and nuts on occasion, this is a good tool set to add to your arsenal.The 13 piece extractor set comes in a very nice heavy plastic case that has the sizes molded next to their compartments. The individual extractors are also clearly printed with their size.For bolt or nuts, the extractors make contact almost instantly (See pic. 3) and a light hammer tap will seat them. Using an impact tool, 3/8" drive ratchet or a wrench, the socket will then (hopefully) remove the offending hardware. I tested some of the sockets on various hardware that I mocked up with some cross threaded, rusted and rounded heads.After testing, I found that the extractors work very well on nuts and bolt heads, even when they are rounded.Athough not specifically designed for broken bolts or studs, I test them for that also. I had mixed results when trying to remove the studs. First, you need a good bit of exposed stud just to make contact with the extractor (See pic. 4). Then, if the contact portion is threaded, the extractor does not get a good grip until the threads are sheared. It works pretty well on non-threaded sections and the longer the stud, the better chance of success.For removing stuck or rounded nuts and bolts, this set works great. From 1/4" to 3/4", it will cover just about any sized fastener I am likely to come up against. I am confident that it will meet my needs. Recommended.

Worked like a charm for a rounded bolt i needed to get out. Sprayed the bolt with penetrant and let it sit for a while. Then hammered this onto the bolt head. Put this on my impact gun and got it off. I dont expect to use this often, but so far it worked on a few bolts. So far so good! Come with a durable case that clearly identify each of the sizes.

This shipped right away and I got it the next day, which was great because I had a stripped out bolt I wanted to use it on. The head was originally 12mm but was stripped so bad I ended up using the 11mm extractor on it.I did have to use a little heat from a torch, but between the two I managed to get the bolt out, no problem. My next step was to weld on a nut, but this saved me dragging out the welder.I should have gotten some pictures, but it was dark, wet, and cold out, and I just wanted to get the job done.
