I used this for cutting apart mattress springs and it worked really well, had no issues. But these were about 1/8 inch thick so not sure how it would do with locks, but it works great for cutting wire / thin steel.

These do the job they're sold for, but they are neither "old" Milwaukee tool quality, nor do they approach the professional quality tools like Klein's. After some adjusting and tuning they do light jobs just fine, and smaller size makes them handy. When faced with hard/larger pieces (ex:normal size padlock, regular chain) the jaws deflect long before the not hardened steel does.
