Electric/Manual Choke: This carburetor comes with both options. You can either choose an electric choke or a manual choke.
An electric choke is the most suitable option for winters, as starting an engine in the cold can be difficult.
The job of an electric choke is to warm the engine quickly by mixing air and fuel.
On the other hand, manual choking involves adjusting a metal plate to increase/decrease the air. It can be a bit difficult for some users, which is why most prefer an electric choke.

This item shipped and arrived fast. This 600 CFM Carter AFB / Performer style square bore carb is well polished, looks nice and appears well made. This carb looks and appears just like the big brand names. All of the machine work is very well done and the bottom has a flat deck. I ordered one of these for a small block Chevy 350 I am currently building. I am building this engine for the street only with a mid range Comp Cam, Dart heads, and 3500 stall converter. I am sure I will have to play with the metering rods and jets to get this carb dialed in but these carbs are so easy to do that. I like that this carb has an electric choke living in a cold climate area. This carb comes with everything you will need as far as gaskets go and has a few sets of jets included. I wish the manufacturer of this carb would have included the metering rod and jet combo cheat sheet that comes with the big brand carbs. No big deal as they can be found and printed out with an online search. This carb will have no problem fitting on my Performer RPM intake and should have great engine performance in the end result. If I have any adverse problems I will add on. The cost was fair for this item. I rated it 4 stars.

This is a gorgeous shiny Eddie clone. It's a 1406 with electric choke at 600cfm. Perfect for just about any V8. The kit includes all the hardware you would need to mount this up and wire the choke. It also includes 2 fuel filters and 4 sets of jets. It's amazing how great this really looks. The polish is beautiful and will make it SO easy to keep clean compared to unpolished. I haven't tried swapping parts with an OEM, but it looks identical. Highly Recommended

Great carb that fired our truck right up. My husband and I builds engines. We have an older year truck that we haven’t drove in a while and it was in the need of a carb. Fired right up and no leaks. We have always ran the same carburetors forever but they have gone up so much in price I thought we’d try this one. We didn’t need to do any carb adjustment but this has many extras if needed. It functions great the truck runs like it never sat. Of coarse we also kept good gas in it because it sits. Installation was a perfect fit. But of coarse he turned more of the tools than me and was very happy. I’m very happy with how it runs. Any issues come up I will update. I will be buying more for our other engines. Looks great too.

I build and work on street rods, resto-mods and restorations as well as late model cars and trucks. I recently had the opportunity to order and review this carburetor.While it’s styled after the venerable Carter AVS (descendant of the AFB of the early 60’s), it has a number of upgrades including being beautifully polished.1) Externally adjustable float level (this is huge)2) Float level sight glass3) Easily adjustable idle fuel mixture4) Adjustable accelerator pump5) Choke valve air overrides (for those times when temp is too cold for choke setting)6) No ((ZERO)) power valve issues7) No ((ZERO)) leaking float bowls8) Front or rear PCV portsThe installation kit has everything you’ll need for a typical installation. It also includes additional main metering jets in case you want to do some additional tuning. Note that jetting for proper AFR is pretty well a function of fuel to air flow. The larger or smaller engines will generally not impact AFR, if any at all. I’ve run these 600 CFM carburetors on everything from a mild 283 to a cammed up 468 BBC. They work great and deliver a nice crisp throttle response. Frankly, I’m amazed that these can be offered so inexpensively…I keep up with my reviews and will revisit this one should the need arise.I give this carburetor my Big-Foot “Stomp” of approval and 5 stars!

I got this to install on a 289 that I have in my 1964 Ford Falcon. But before I had a chance to install it I needed to rebuild the Edelbrock 1411 750cfm on my 1969 Ford Thunderbird with a 429. While I was working on that carb I decided to give this one a try. So I swapped it onto the Tbird and it was almost a direct swap. It fired right up and ran great. The throttle response was fantastic although it didn't have quite as much torque or high end as the 750 which is understandable but if this was an everyday driver this would be a perfect carb for that combination.After I got the Edelbrock rebuilt and back on the Tbird I installed this on the 289. I have a Edelbrock Torker intake on that and it also installed easily. The engine also has headers and a mild cam and this carb seems like it was made for this engine. I get good low end torque and it lets me really wind it out to well above 6000rpm. For the price this a excellent replacement.
