What really sets this unit apart is its dual capability—it’s designed to be either built-in or used as a freestanding appliance, providing flexibility based on kitchen layout.Setup does require plumbing, which may be a dealbreaker for some. If you’re not comfortable with basic installation like water line hookup and drainage setup, hiring help is probably necessary. The design fits under standard countertops at 15” wide, but the depth and height should be double-checked against your available space.The stainless steel construction is both sleek and sturdy. The control panel is digital and easy to use, and the inclusion of a self-cleaning mode simplifies maintenance considerably. It runs relatively quietly, and users noted the machine starts making ice quickly, with batches produced in around 11 to 20 minutes. It also includes an inline water filter and insulated body for clean and long-lasting cubes.The only downside is the price. It’s on the higher end, though the performance justifies the cost if you truly need this level of output. This stainless steel ice maker is beautiful quality. It is heavy duty and very well made. There is nothing cheap or junky on this unit, it is quality through and through. It is quite heavy, so you may want a second pair of hands when moving it. It is a very well made ice maker, even the door handle feels like quality when you pull the door open.I got mine to use in my outdoor kitchen in the entertaining area. In the winter time I will have to drain it out so nothing freezes in it. This is a quality ice maker that I am very excited to get running. I can see from the instructions that it can produce a lot of ice very quickly.In the summertime I often have 20 to 40 guests that are enjoying cold drinks with lots of ice, so this commercial grade ice maker should hopefully rise to meet that need well. At the moment I am waiting for our plumber to come by and hook it up. I will be back to add to this review once it is up and running.

This Coolski ice maker was chosen to replace a 13 year old ice maker, and was installed in the Breakroom/Kitchen at our Network Operations Center. This facility houses 100+ employees and operates 24 hours per day, 7days per week. The old unit had become a maintenances problem, but more importantly, it was always out of ice!This new Coolski ice maker has been installed for over a month now and there is always plenty of fresh ice. There have been very few complaints, mostly from people becoming familiar with all the great features. The vast majority of comments have been things like, "this ice maker is a game changer", and "there is always plenty of ice".The contractor that installed it said everything he needed to do the under counter installation was included in the box, and that it was a "breeze". He did say he would not suggest anyone install it without the inline water filter and a hose to a floor drain, because the water is on and the unit is making new ice all the time. He also said the unit is designed to routinely discharge a very small amount of waste water. He suggested we change the water filter every 3 to 4 months and use the easy "clean" feature monthly.This machine makes ice fast! It took us a few days of trial and error to get the cube size where we wanted them, but once set, the machine began creating a batch of new cubes about every 15 minutes. I have no doubt that it can create 80 pounds of ice per day.This new Coolski ice maker is proving to be perfect for our use, and if it continues to perform like it has so far, we hope to enjoying it for many years.

Wow, this Coolski Ice Maker is actually very "cool". It looks sleek and modern and I like the digital readout. I think it's great that they made it counter-height and depth so it integrates with kitchen cabinets easily — especially if you're designing a new kitchen or remodel.I bought a home that has a 40-year old freezer that doesn't make ice. I got sick of using ice trays, and sometimes when I have a party I'm really in trouble. I had the Coolski professionally installed (I had a good space in my family room), adjacent to the kitchen where there are water lines and drains. Now I have all the ice I could ever possibly need. It's pretty quiet, and it vents out the front so it doesn't get hot in it's cubby. But please note, you need water lines and drains, even though this can technically stand-alone.It's a great feature that you can control the size of the ice cubes. Smaller ones take just a few minutes to make and larger cubes are about 15 minutes.This is a serious appliance. It weighs 75 pounds!It functions perfectly and makes up to 80 lbs of ice a day. That's a ton of ice. Note that it makes ice continuously and drains it out (melts it) it so you ALWAYS have a big batch of fresh ice. This would be more suited for a business or if you throw a lot of parties and want serious ice more often. Since I only need big batches of ice occasionally, I turn it off when I don't need lots of ice. The nice thing is if I DO need ice to make smoothies or for my dinner party drinks or bigger functions, I can turn it on early and have plenty of wonderful ice!Think carefully about your needs. I used to own a coffee shop and this would have been perfect there. It's probably overkill for my house, but not when I throw a big party!!
