This lighting orb is da bomb. The instructions leave a lot to be desired, but once you puzzle your way through the operation, this thing makes the basement disco slap. Highly recommend.

I tried it on an old Ultimate Support speaker stand that has the common diameter, 38mm. This clamp fit and clung well and is made to fit even larger tube diameters, or even a bit smaller. It's a basic design, the clamps are about 7 inches total length. The adjustable bolt part that actually touches and bolt's end to the truss tube is just raw metal, not solid hunk but like a little slice of hollow metal tube. There's no padding, rubber, plastic or something designed not to be abrasive to the stand it's clamped to. It works as it though. It would help if the nut for the fixture holding bolt were a wing nut so a wrench isn't needed, but that's also common. I show a light fixture in the photo that has an uncommon metal mounting bar with three holes in it for connecting to a truss, using clamps. The photo is comparing this C-clamp to another brand shown, that one with a wing nut instead of a common nut. The light's mounting bracket metal strip has ridges on its underside where you must tighten the nut (that's a bad design IMO). It makes tightening down the nut, wing or normal, a bit of a hassle as you'll find that inner ridge gets in the way of using a tool or even fingers. You can't use a common hand wrench (too wide) either so I needed a thin deep ratchet socket or a deep nut driver to get in there. I mention this bad bracket design because it's a common occurrence. I think most mounting brackets on lights are just a solid piece if metal with holes in them for clamp bolts, no flanges, and you could use a simple hand wrench on them. So I only mentioned this snafu of tightening the bolt to give a heads up, but it has NO reflection on the review of these clamps, they will be just fine 95% of the time. Finally, these are made of heavy solid metal and I expect the product to last, but time will tell. I think if the bolts and/or nuts don't strip or the adjustable end metal part that clamps down to the tube stays intact and usable then these 2 inch (max opening gap) C-clamps will be good to go for a lifetime.

Enjoy the fixture but had a tough time finding a profile. We used it on random and pre-programmed some of our own presets. It worked well.
