This design works great but I found another brand that is half the price made by the same manufacturer.

The 2.5" ID referenced is meant to mean it is designed for a 2.5" ID coilover spring. The ID of the tube itself is approximately 2 1/8", which would fit over a 2" shock with or without threads, but would not fit over a 2" smooth shock body with a threaded sleeve.
