Very dull right out of the package. Takes forever just to get through thin plastic. Just grinds it's way through slowly. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I bought this to drill a precise hole in my Goldwing motorcycle fairing to install some outlets. It cut right through plastic and I was able to drill a hole to a precise measurement for a grommet. The price is right and it held up well to it's first job. I'm happy with the purchase.

Tried widening a hole on a basic aluminum enclosure, this didn’t even make a dent, completely incapable of drilling aluminum.

Nice step drill bit. Lots of range. You should be able to get the hole you need with this bit. It doesn't come with a case. How you see it in the picture is how it is. Loose in a bag. Performance of this drill bit worked well to make a hole in a threshold a little larger to accommodate larger lag bolts. Went through effortlessly. I havent had the opportunity to test it with metal yet but with wood it did a great job so far.
