Quick and easy to cut for odd shaped containers or roll it out for trays. Works great for microgreens and sprouts.

Useful for sprouts and cat grass, as it is not a soil medium, so it is not too messy for use inside the home. It actually stays moist for a decent amount of time, unless you have a heater that dries out the house quickly. Easy to cut to shape for whatever container you have your growth in.

Great Growth, Slightly Weird SmellReview:My microgreens are thriving! They sprouted fast and healthy, and the results have been amazing so far. The material really supports good growth and moisture retention, which I love. The only downside is the smell — it’s a bit unusual at first, not super strong but definitely noticeable. Luckily, it fades after a few days and doesn’t affect the plants at all. Overall, very happy with how effective it is!

We are sprouting people and have recently started growing some micro-greens. While we like use soils and coirs, we also wanted to try other growing mediums to see their results. We like this hemp to use as a medium especially because we can cut it to the size tray we want to use and it just a matter of moistening it and laying our seeds on top of it. We had good success with some radish seeds and didn’t have any issues with molding at all. After we cut the micro-greens, we dug it into one of our raised beds for the worms to enjoy. We like the fact we can put a rubber band around it while storing with no extra tubs or soil mess to deal with. The hemp is thick and sturdy, easy to cut, and very functional if you want a no fuss method to grow your greens!

I have never grown microsprouts using this method but I am pleasantly surprised. The hemp fiber mat is sturdy and thick. It is easy to cut to desired size. You soak it for a few hours and sprinkle the seeds over the mat and lightly press down. It only took a couple of days until I saw sprouts starting. Very nice product and when I'm done with it I'll put it in the compost bin.

We will be using this jute mat to grow microgreens. The size in the listing is accurate and fits perfectly in our 10x20" tray. The thickness is comparable to other jute mat we have used for this purpose. I anticipate this substrate working well. We have also used coco coir and organic soil to grow micro greens and each base elicits a different outcome. Looking forward to using this soon.
