These Orange Drop capacitors always work well for me. They produce a quality tone at a fair price.

Used to replace tone cap in a squire affinity telecaster, original cap sounded like a big wooden drum, this one sounds like an expensive guitar. This made my tone knob very usable and musical sounding. Very transparent sounding, no echo or muddy sound.

I changed the stock caps out for these in my P bass and my jazz bass and the difference was remarkable.

Great tone. Good caps. However, the PIO paper in oil caps have a little better tone and are vintage correct for my '57 reissue guitar, so I replaced these with former Soviet Union PIO caps I got from Kyiv, Ukraine. These made a difference over OEM normal caps, and the PIO made the same difference over these caps. However, I plan to install these in a future current build. These are great caps.

These are good capacitors for guitar tone circuits.I always check for the outer foil lead and solder that lead to ground. Less noise in the circuit. You cannot go by the black line. They do not mean anything anymore. You need to test them and make an identifying mark for the "ground" lead.I took a short patch cord with a plug on one end and soldered alligator clips to the leads. Identify tip and ground leads.Clip them to the capacitor leads and plug it into an amplifier. Turn the volume up and hold the orange drop between your fingers. You will hear some hum. Turn down the amp and flip the leads over and hold the capacitor and listen to the hum.The one that has the quieter hum and your ground lead from the plug is the foil outer jacket ground. Simply mark it with a sharpie and that is the side that gets grounded to the pot case. It's simple to do and whether it is important to do for a guitar is debatable but this is how you do it.

Added to a Bourns 500k pot. The combination brought this Squier Mustang to life. These drop caps add a lil something special in the upper registry compared to a .022uf drop. It’s a nice sparkle that brings a gorgeous character to your tone.

I have prior experience with Sprague, and am never disappointed in their exceptional quality. I got these for my guitar crossover (tone control) and they work perfectly.
