It served its purpose, seemed to be waterproof, but was noisy. After a few washes, the lining started to deteriorate so it only lasted a few years.

This mattress protector is 100% waterproof.About a year ago I purchased a different mattress cover that claimed to be waterproof, put it on my kid's bed, and it's been fine. But after seeing comments that it wasn't really waterproof, I tested. Yes, you can spill a cup of water and it won't go through, but if you press/squeeze into it for a few seconds (or imagine an adult sleeping atop for several hours) it definitely goes through.Tested this mattress cover and it absolutely won't let liquid pass through. Took a cup of water, made a pouch with the fabric, and squeezed. Nothing escaped. Very happy!While I understand the reasoning behind cool/warm water wash and low heat - I don't have time for that or the tolerance for towels, sheets, socks, or underwear to be washed in germ coddling luke warm cleaning environments. This mattress cover got the hot water, high heat dryer treatment and held up beautifully. I've had others in the past where the waterproof material sticks to itself, but this one stayed perfect. It fit the mattress before washing and after, so as far as I can tell, it didn't shrink.As for "noise" there isn't any. I think the bamboo sheets placed on top create a slick sound when brushed up against, but the mattress cover beneath is silent.Great product! Am happily purchasing a second so bedding doesn't have to be washed in a single day.

I have been pleasantly surprised by this purchase. When I pulled it out I was skeptical that it was actually 100% waterproof but I knew it would be tested fast because my daughter is potty training during naps for the first time. I still put a folded towel under her butt because of mess maintenance which works like a charm however this last time she had moved off of it and had an accident just on the protector. I checked the underside of the protector where the accident was and thought it probably had seeped through somewhat however when I checked the mattress it wasn't wet and I couldn't smell any urine anywhere. I just put it through it's first wash and it seems to be holding up just fine although I am hang drying it instead of using the drier (it says you can put it in the drier but I want it to last as long as possible considering the amount of washing/drying I will be doing). So far I have to say that I am extremely pleased with this purchase, it seems to be waterproof and breathable which is a perfect potty training protector!

Normal amount of sound for a water resistant fabric. Now, it's a fitted sheet. It only has the water proof layer at the top. The sides are a normal thin layer of fabric. I saw a review of it not working for pets. It's possible. Especially if they spray the sides. My son wet his bed and nothing got on the mattress. It works for me. Also, threw it in the washer and dryer. Worked out well.

I've had these on my kids beds for a few months now my 9 year old has spills and it's worked so far but my 5 year old just had an accident and it did not hold. I'm very disappointed after all the good reviews I read. Plus there was also two fitted sheets on top of the protector and it still got through.Update 1/21 They might be okay for someone with light spills but they have not worked for my kids. I need to order another kind and double up the protectors on the mattresses. These aren't cutting it at all.
