Works really well with my big heavy kid toy chest. The video in one of the reviews got me to buy this. Happy no little hands are going to be hurt. Simple install, works fantastic.

I’ve used these hinges on a couple toy boxes for my grandkids, they work great. The toy box lids are 22” x 50” made out of 3/4 plywood. I could probably get by with one hinge, but use two. The lids close very slowly and I don’t have to worry about pinched fingers or the lid dropping on them. Love these hinges.

These are nice hinges. They are not too big or heavy, so they will work in quite a few different applications. They come with instructions for proper installation and a template for marking the proper hole location in order for the hinges to work. You have to be able to open the item a full 90 degrees to release the hinge so that the lid will close. If you don't put the screws in the proper location or cannot open your door/lid fully, these will not work for you.The only reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that I question their ability to work for something like a child's toybox. If I were making a toybox for Grandma and Grandpa's house where the kids will play a couple of times a month I would feel comfortable using these to help prevent pinched fingers. However, if I were building a toybox for my child's own room where they might open and close it daily (or even multiple times daily) I think these would fail before the child outgrows the toybox.I am going to use these to put 12" cabinets with horizontally lifting doors in the empty space above my current kitchen cupboards. This is something I will only open a few times a year. I want the doors to stay open while I am loading and unloading the cabinet, and I want to prevent them from slamming when they do close. These are going to work perfectly.I think these would be perfect for use in a motor home or camping trailer of any sort. they are fairly light weight, so they could add a lot of convenience and some safety without adding much weight to your haul.
