I cut this into pieces to fit my dehydrator shelves for drying fine material. Of course the edges are sharp, it's stainless steel mesh - duh. Handle with reasonable care unless you want your fingers super papercut!I worked most of the curl out of the sheets, then cut them with good tin ships. I then fastened the pieces to the metal shelves with superglue. And I didn't cut myself once!

We had a couple of field mice that made their way into my crawl space through some old air vents. We used this with some sealant to cover over the vents and we have seen no more mice make their way inside. We used standard shears from Home Depot and it cut through very easily. The sheets are very sturdy and easy to put up. Mice have yet to make their way through them nor have we seen nay damage to them in the last couple of months since we have put them up.

As others have noted, the product ships rolled, and cannot easily be flattened. This makes it rather difficult to work with, as you are always fighting against the shape of the product. To make matters worse, as soon as you cut the mesh to size, the edges become extremely sharp. Even an slight touch can draw blood.Highly recommend gloves when possible. Also, maybe ship the the product in smaller sheets instead of coils.

Cut the material with shop scissors although depending on quality of regular scissors could probably use thoseUsed material to second layer chew points in a screen, net result was creatures felt all the screen was made of this material and a completely different point of attack would be needed. Material is a very fine mesh but not so much it couldn't embed with thin mix mortar to patch other spots for deterrenceGloves would be notably suggested as cut material is easily stiff enough to break skin

This product is a well made screening material, made from stainless steel wire. I bought 40 mesh, and the mesh did measure 0.025 inch, wire-wire, on-center. Wire thickness was 0.2 mm (0.008 inch). It is woven, so it can unravel at the edges. The material, as delivered, did not have any unraveled edges. It was delivered rolled, so there were no creases. It was also protected by a piece of shirt cardboard rolled around it. My only shipping criticism is that it was delivered in one of those smiley envelopes, and not a mailing tube. If the screen had been crushed by being under a heavy object on the truck, the smile would have been upside down. The screen was very clean, and did not seem to be oily. It cut easily with tin snips. I installed it in the lint filter of a dryer vent. It was an easy material to handle. I can recommend this material for any application that would be satisfied by fine mesh metal screen.

I purchased this mesh to make PC case dust filters from. Had to spend a few days pressing out the curve from packing, as the mesh ships tightly rolled into a cylinder. The mesh can be creased without the wires breaking, and I only observed one individual wire fraying off the edge(some sort of sealing is recommended around the edges of your product to prevent fraying).summary:Stiff, sturdy, fairly sheer in keeping with the 40 rating mesh standards. No major defects(fraying, irregularity in weave, corrosion) Wires don't break when folded into a 180. This is good quality mesh.
