I have yet to find a stud using this. I tested it on metal and the magnet does work however when looking for nails in studs it’s like a needle in a hay stack. I know how far apart my studs are so should be able to find nails.

No need to look further. This simple tool will do what as said find beam. Also will help leveling for whatever. TV, frames, shelves

When I first received these stud finders I noticed how small they are, easily tossed into a bag or drawer. The magnets on them aren't as strong as some reviewers are stating but they do work. When in use, I knock on the wall and listen for the difference in sound to get a rough idea where a stud might be and then I slid this stud finder all around until I could feel a little magnetic resistance indicating a screw was found. The magnetic is just strong enough to hold the stud finder to the well. The mini level an added bonus to stay plumb. This is a cheap little product but you get 2 of them and they do what they are supposed to.

Ordered these stud finders to have on hand for household projects. These plastic units have very strong magnets to minimize false positive readings (mine actually stuck to the textured wall when I let go). The finders rely on finding nail/screw heads that hold drywall to the studs.These are very low-tech, affordable units which for me seem to work better than the multiple electronic units I own. I appreciate that they have a built in level to help with marking stud location. You may get a chuckle from fellow DIY'rs when you pull these out of your toolbox, but I assure you they will find the stud! Highly recommend!!!

These are strong when attached to each other in a pair. But that's not how they are used. When put on a 1/2" drywall, they barely sensed screws, and wouldn't really stay on the wall by themselves. I don't find these very useful.

It’s time to throw away my old stud finder that only had a little pointer that stood straight up when it hit the stud. The face that these can stick to the wall is just genius! The magnets are very strong and make it so easy to find the nails in the studs. The price is reasonable as well. Glad I found these!

I bought this 2-pack of Magnetic Stud Finders set to throw one in my drill bag. There have been more times when I wished I had one. I was wowed at how tiny they were. I shook my head as I ran the magnet slowly across the wall. The magnet is stong, and it grabs onto the drywall screw holding the stud, and it’s strong enough to keep itself in place so you can mark the spot. The built-in level is small but handy. I could have used that too several times when I looked into my tool bag, and someone borrowed my favorite small level. It’s cheap, clever, and genuinely useful. I keep one in the house and one in the toolbox. I don’t have to worry about dead batteries or false readings. It’s not fancy, but it’s fabulous for what it does. Easy to use, strong magnet, includes level, great value (2-pack!) 4.5 stars
