I've been using various terracotta watering stakes for awhile now but only recently tried the old school ollas. These are a great size for some of my larger pots and have been so much easier to use than the watering stakes. They hold more water and the water stays cooler because it's buried. I started a pot of mint using one of these ollas in the middle of summer and it's been doing very well, even with me struggling to get out in the heat and refill the olla. The mint is thriving were my more established plants are wilting (or just dead already). So I will be switching over to more of these for next summer.

When I placed this order, I was rather afraid that they would come cracked or chipped or in some other way damaged. I was surprised that they came securely packaged and were received in pristine condition. Now I just need to soak them, bury them and enjoy not having to water so much. Well, that’s the plan anyway.
