Switching from a 2-PC KVM to a 4-PC KVM. Just installed this one for my gaming PC, NAS laptop and work mac mini.Pros:- Does support my ultrawide 3440x1440 screen @ 175HZ. Woot.- Switches just fine between the devices. Takes about ~5 seconds per switch.- Came with all the cables (though I've had spares so ended up not using.Cons:- I got a used item. It had scratches on the top! Not major, but I expected a very clean device.- The sound card that's in this thing is terrible. I had to switch back to my USB sound card that's plugged into the USB hub (it's a $10 card) but it sounds leagues better.- There's a delay I didn't get w/ my previous KVM where my computer says "G-Sync enabled monitor is connected" and the sound plays on the monitor first, and only later switches to the USB sound card. Not the end of the world but something to be aware of.

Had this less than a year and it started acting up. Started with power being inconsistent where it over heated and would freeze up by peripherals not being recognized by the individual computers or the display completely going black. Decided to change out dp and hdmi cables to higher quality and that did not fix it. Resorted to having to unplug and replug in peripherals as they stopped responding or being recognized. I spent way too much money for this to fail after less than a year. I had read another one review stating something similar but thought I would take the risk. After less than a year I can tell you it was not worth it for the hassle of plugging and unplugging and going through buying all new cables just to confirm this is a piece of expensive junk. I purchased the 4 computer switch as I had 3 computers I wanted on one monitor and that cost me $300. So disappointed and annoyed that I cant return. DO NOT RECOMMEND, DONT BUY THIS. Looking for better quality item now.

This review is for the version that only switches USB, with no video switching. This was very affordable at the time of purchase, as opposed to the versions that also switch video, which are on the expensive side. The device switches a couple of USB 2 ports, one USB 3 port, and a DAC (with stereo analog input and output TRS phone plugs) between two computers. The switch can be accomplished using a physical button and also a hot key on a connected keyboard. There is a small button on the front plate that can be used to toggle the hot key switching. The computer that is currently active is displayed using a single-digit LED display. The build is all-metal and solid. It should be noted however that something big (most likely the PCB) rattles a bit inside, which does not say good things about the QC and may influence reliability down the line; so far so good though. All of this works largely as advertised. I was in particular very pleased to discover that the hot key switching works just fine with all the keyboards I threw at it including the unified receiver-based Logitech keyboards that are notorious for not playing nice with KVMs. I had high hopes that the switch will fit perfectly in at least two of my use cases, but alas that turned out not to be the case because of a couple of minor quirks namely that (a) the built-in DAC cannot be turned off, and (b) there switch introduces occasional lag for the connected mouse (but strangely enough not the keyboard). My first use case was to switch keyboard and mouse between my smart TV and a multimedia computer, with no need for (and indeed no possibility of) video switching. For audio output both devices are connected to an AVR using HDMI. That worked well, except that my TV (Sony Bravia) insists in picking the switch DAC as audio sink, with no way to override this choice. Using the stereo analog output of the switch DAC vs. the multi-channel HDMI connection is a non-starter, so the switch turned out to be unusable for this scenario. In attempting to fix this issue I got a chance to get in touch with the manufacturer's customer service and I was impressed. They actually attempted to find a solution and even escalated the issue with their tech department. It turned out that it is not possible to disable the switch DAC, but that was not for lack of trying. Once everything failed they even offered to refund my purchase (which I declined since the switch works well otherwise, but it was very nice of them). My second scenario that could use this switch was in the game room, where I have a gaming computer and also a multi-media computer connected to a single monitor. The A/V connections are HDMI to an AVR (which handles audio and also video switching) and then to the monitor. There is still a need to switch the keyboard and mouse between these machines. This switch fit perfectly into this scenario. The setup worked perfectly fine for the multimedia computer, and the keyboard worked equally fine for the gaming computer. However, the switch introduces occasional lag for the mouse, resulting in stuttering mouse movement. This is not a problem (it is not even noticeable) most of the time, but makes mouse-based games (such as Minecraft Dungeons) unplayable. I therefore had to remove the switch.Overall this is as far as I know the only affordable product in its niche and it does very well most things it is supposed to be doing. A few quirks exist but they are minor and I was unlucky to stumble upon them. Indeed, the fact that I cannot select the audio sink is not the fault of the switch, but the very restricted Google TV OS's (there is nothing preventing the selection of the audio sink in a real OS). The mouse lag is not noticeable except when attempting to use the mouse in a game. As long as one is aware of these quirks and one makes sure that they are not show stoppers in the intended use case this is an excellent piece of hardware which ultimately I can recommend.

The Terived USB Hotkey Switch Selector with Digital Display is an outstanding solution for anyone needing to share multiple USB devices between two computers seamlessly. I bought it mainly for its hotkey feature, and it delivers exactly as promised. The hotkey works flawlessly, with a reassuring beep whenever you switch inputs—no more second-guessing whether the shortcut registered!Switching is fast and reliable, with my Corsair mechanical keyboard and Logitech G403 HERO mouse, which have worked without a single compatibility hiccup. PC1 is a Windows and PC2 is a MacBook Pro, and it just works. If you prefer manual switching, the button on the switch itself has a satisfying tactile feel. The LED display is another thoughtful touch; it briefly lights up to indicate which computer is active, then fades out—perfect if you’re working in a dim setting and don’t want constant brightness. Overall, Terived has packed a lot of useful features and attention to detail into this USB switch, making it a worthwhile buy for anyone looking to streamline their multi-device setup.

I really like the hotkey (hit twice right ctrl on your keyboard to switch). That means you don't need to keep the switch on your desk. Switches that offer that hotkey feature are usually way more expensive. It works great, no issue. I tried few cheap kvm, all of them had issues. I use that usb switch with a tp-link usb hub and I select the source directly on my monitor to not lower my refresh rate. This setup allow me to save money because a good kvm is expensive, and a lot of people complains about kmv.

Sometimes it disconnects when switching between devices or freezes up connected device power and the power switch at the back has to be reset to fix itOtherwise, good value for the money and the power switching hotkeys are nice to have.
