Easy to assemble. First job was to get a Northstar Cadillac Engine and a 2008 DTS Transmission, out of the back of my Dodge Ram 1500, by myself, at 66 years old. As a teen, I've worked used many cherry pickers ( hoists ) that were not the most reliable, and were prone to tipping. Many had weights added to the rear for added stability. I grabbed the transmission first, knowing it was heavy and awkward too. Not like the transmissions of the 50's - 70's... I used to pull them and walk away with them. Not this one. Then came the engine. That balance transfer item work fantastic. Well Built for me. Not afraid to use it by myself again. Although I was outside my own garage, on concrete, it probably has a 4" slope or drop for runoff. I am glad I purchased this hoist, from this seller!

This engine hoist is a complete disaster. The welds look like they were done by a kid in shop class, and the hydraulic cylinder leaks like crazy after just a few uses. It wobbles under load, making it sketchy as hell to use. For the price, I expected way better quality. Save yourself the headache and buy a trusted brand instead.
