After years of transplanting my small plant starts into small pots mature them a bit in my greenhouse, before putting them in the garden, I've recently started using plastic garden cloches and planting the starts directly in the garden. It's working SO WELL! I'm amazed! I've been trying different plastic garden cloches, here's how these stack up in my experience. MATERIALThese are made of thinner material vs. other cloches I'm using, but I'm just doubling them up. With that little air gap, they seem to provide a lot of insultation against wind and the cooler nighttime temps. The vents are easily adjustable, and I just fully open both the vents on the cloches I stack to make sure there is some small venting.I do have to pin these into the garden bed, or use a wire cloche on top of these plastic cloches to make sure they don't blow around. SHAPEI really like the shape of these a lot! They have a square base so I can line them up in my beds right next to each other. These are also taller than my other cloches which I like.Overall, these are working really well for me. While I wish they were thicker, doubling them up provides the same or more protection for my seedlings which grow really fast using these plastic cloches.

I think the cones will work well but I was shorted by 2 cones. How can I get the items I was shorted?

These are ok. I wanted them to protect some of my smaller new spring growth of my perennials from my crazy dog trampling them. For that, they work great, and I also think they've boosted the growth some by creating a bit of a greenhouse effect. But the downsides are that they are very very thin flimsy plastic. I've crumpled a couple of them just staking them to the ground. Also, they have 4 holes at the top and a little plastic piece that you can turn to close off the holes. It rained hard here and I left that open so that rain can get in to the plant. Once the rain was over I checked and the ground under these was completely dry. Not very helpful for the garden, you'll have to pull them up everytime it rains or you water your plants.

I’m really getting a lot of use out of this 20 pack of garden cloches. Initially I was using them at night to protect my newly transplanted seedlings from the cooler evening temperatures. They worked so great for that & I didn’t have to deal with the hassle of draping frost cloth over my transplants & making sure the frost cloth was supported so it wouldn’t touch the plants. This product takes all of that hassle off my shoulders which is very much welcomed! Now that the evenings have been more mild, I’ve once again been using these cloches to keep the dreaded slugs off my the start of my dahlia’s growth. The slugs just love the tender vegetation of baby dahlia greenery. I don’t use these as something I keep on my plants around the clock since the slugs are their worst at night & leaving the cloches on during the day (even with the vented tops) would create a much too hot environment for my tender vegetation. These cloches has been the perfect size to protect tender vegetation from frost and/or slugs & once the plants get to the point that they’ve outgrown the cloches, their vegetation has become tough and less appealing to the slugs. As another reviewer mentioned, I appreciate that the base of each cloche is square as that allows my to line them up down my rows of plants neatly & effortlessly. I also appreciate the metal stakes that come with this kit, as they are definitely needed to keep the cloches in place due to winds, a careless animal bumping them, etc. At a little more than a dollar a piece, I feel the value is definitely great given the protection this product provides to my precious plants. This would also make a great gift for the gardener in your life!

Nice clear plastic cones with ventilation on the top, really comes in handy for new plantings when nightly temperatures drop too low. They come with 2 stakes per cone, are easy to install over small plants or seedlings and remove the next morning when the sun comes out and its warmer. These really came in handy for me over the past few weeks and saved the plants in my little veggie garden when temps dipped in the 30-40's at night. Overall, a good product that is easy to use and really helps to keep plants warm and protected when needed.

These are a nice shape - I got them to try for my rhubarb starts as the slugs have been eating them - and these have allowed my rhubarb starts to begin to grow. All of my starts that I put the domes on have now come back. These are very lightweight and thin. I got the clear domes so I could keep an eye on my plants easier. My only issue is I feel like it needs an easier way to get water into it - yes they can but pulled out but then the trapped heat gets out - but it still works well to protect those plants. So far we haven't had any major winds come through so I'm unsure how they will hold up in those. But they are a nice size and I like how it comes in a pack of 20.

I like how these are square. I have circular ones from a couple of different brands and this seems to cover more space, which makes sense to me.The plastic is much thinner than I was expecting. The other ones I already own have a more durable plastic. They could rip easily and may not have a lot of longevity. However, there are TWENTY of them in a package, so I think that makes up for it. They also come with a lot of stakes to keep them in place. The other thing I like about these is that there are holes large enough to allow for the honeybees to enter and pollinate. I am a beekeeper, and want them to have all of the nectar and pollen they can collect. To me, this is the biggest plus of all. I do want to keep the rodents away from my tender seedlings, but I also want to allow the bees to enter and feast. Five stars for that alone.
