I got these to use to attach stuff to my UpTop roof rack which uses extruded aluminum cross bars. The nuts work perfectly with my 1/4-20 bolts and they do roll into the rack slot without removing the bar. This does make it super convenient for attaching attachments like shovel holders, box tie-downs and such. Because these are the roll-in type I wouldn't use them for anything super critical and instead use full section nuts that have to slide in from the end just to get a little extra bite on the rail.

This product description doesn’t indicate which size extruded aluminum these T-nuts are intended for. They are too wide for 2020, which is what I’m currently building with, but I’m keeping them because I also building with 3030 as well. I don’t use roll in nuts often, but if I realize I forget to add a T-nut to a section that’s finished, a roll in is a better option sometimes than deconstructing a section to add a T-nut. These seem like good quality roll ins.
