FAQ About SOLUPUP Solar Panels

  • How much power can the SOLUPUP 200W Solar Panel generate under normal conditions?
  • This depends first and foremost on weather conditions. Generally speaking, on a clear day with no clouds in the sky, sunlight hitting the panel at a 90° angle usually generates 160W–180W of power in the 200W panel. (Current light conditions are normally 800W–900W/m2 (74.3W–83.6W/ft2) with a panel temperature of 50°C (122°F) under test conditions. Nominal power ratings are based on 1000W/m2 (92.9W/ft2) in AM1.5 conditions with a panel temperature of 25°C (77°F) under test conditions. Power output figures close nominal values were normally observed in the midday sun during the winter.)
  • What should I know about the operating temperature, storage and use o f the SOLUPUP 200W Solar Panel?
  • The operating temperature of the SOLUPUP Solar Panel is -25°C–65°C (-14°F–149°F). The solar panel weighs 8.2kg (about 18.5 lb), with a folded size of 24.4*20.8*1.9 inches and an unfolded size of 91.5*20.8*0.6 inches. It is easy to carry and suitable for off-grid adventures. The solar panels need to be folded up when not in use, which provides sufficient protection for the product. To extend the service life of the panel, ensure that the product is not exposed to external forces/impacts when not in use. The solar panel itself is made of glass and must not be dropped, pierced, bent, or sat on. These actions may break the glass and render the panel unusable.
  • Can l use other branded power stations with the 200W SOLUPUP Solar Panel?
  • Yes, the 200W foldable solar panel uses MC4 cable for output, and is also equipped with MC4 to Anderson DC and XT60 cables, which is compatible with most power stations. Under adequate sunshine, the 500wh power station is fully charged by SOLUPUP 200W solar panel within 4 hours.
  • Can 200W solar panels be connected in parallel or in series?
  • Yes,when the solar panels are connected in series (+ connected to -, + connected to-), the voltage is added, the power box in the accessory cannot be used for series connection. It can only be connected to the RV system and home storage solar system. Pay attention to the voltage when connecting other equipment, or you can add an MTTP controller or voltage reducer to use together.; when the solar panels are connected in parallel (+ connected to +,-connected to -), the current is added.
  • Does the 200W SOLUPUP Portable Solar Panel generate a full 200W of power?
  • In most cases, it is normal for a solar panel not to deliver its full nominal power. Some of the reasons why this happens, as well as some suggestions for getting closer to the nominal power figure, are given below. 1. Light Intensity. The amount of light shining on the panel will result in fluctuations to the power output. You are more likely to achieve nominal power output figures closer to those obtained under test conditions when using the product on a clear day during the midday sun, than when using the product in the morning or later in the afternoon. Weather conditions will also affect the amount of sunlight that shines on the panel. For example, you are much less likely to achieve the figures for nominal power in hazy, cloudy or rainy conditions. 2. Surface Temperature. The temperature of the solar panel surface will also affect the amount of power generated. The lower the surface temperature of the panel, the more power will be produced. For example, solar panels generate more power when used during the winter than during the summer, and this is completely normal. Solar panels generally reach temperatures close to 60°C (140°F) during summer. This reduces nominal power by 13%, despite the higher levels of light shining on the panel. 3. Sunlight Angle. In optimal light conditions, the sun's rays should remain perpendicular to the surface of the panel for best performance. Power output is only marginally impacted by sunlight hitting the panel within 10° either side this 90° angle. 4. Panel Shading. The surface of the solar panel should not be shaded during use. Shading caused by shadows, foreign objects and glass can all greatly reduce power output. Performance Issues Caused by Malfunctioning Panels: If the panel still isn't generating power or its output remains far below expected nominal power figures after addressing the issues above, there may be an issue with the panel itself. This solar panel works fantastic! First try I put it in the sun and was getting 180_192 volts. Which I learned later is pretty good after watching many reviews on solar panels. In overcast washing weather it'll range from 45w to 120w, depending on the thickness of the cloud.Watching numerous reviews, I've never heard of this brand Soluop. But it seems better when I see what this dues than all the reviews I've watched on Ecoworthy, Renogy, a dozen others. And the reviews almost always compared prices and this was half the price of the best reviewed 200w portable solar panels. And it seems comparable to the others. And the reviews of other expensive brands give guidance on cutting and splicing wires the get the adapters this one just vibes with.Charges up an Anker Solis pretty quick. Not as fast as the plug but I've been using the panel to charge it.

For the price, this is a great gadget to have. In direct sunlight, you can get up to 15W per USB outlet, of which there are 2. I've used it to charge up my phone, and some battery packs. Even through a window, you can get a few watts which is better than nothing.I like how it folds up and could fit in a backpack. You could keep one under a car seat for emergencies.I kind of wish they offered a more muted color, or black, since it sticks out like a sore thumb in my window/yard.I got some USB watt meters so I can see in real-time how to best position the panel to get maximum power. One of my battery packs has a built-in meter too. I'd recommend getting a USB power meter if you get this, it really helps.

Overall, the item is a wonderful piece of engineering. However, on certain occasions, the engineer didn't think the item thoroughly. Once such occasion is the glare, reflection of its orange borderline on the windshield of a car. It slightly obstruct ability to drive safely. I chose the item to provide two immediate benefits. One to provide electricity to charge my phone or to power a fan while parking under the sun, two, to provide a make shift windshield reflector. However, the width of the panel doesn't reach the top of interior cabin. Since, it fail to perform windshield reflector, I used it as charger for any USB connected devices, such as fans. I pay the panel flat on the dashboard, anchor it with two hooks one on each side, attached to ventilation ducts so panel will not slide. Then another problem arose. The reflection of the panel is kind of bothersome, specially the orange bordering. Very visible. I know it's unusual way to use the item in such a way, but there are lots of possibilities for the item to be useful in all settings of life.

I have used it for short periods of time and it appears to work as expected. Getting over 120 watts in good sunlight but not angling panels to optimize.

This is a good panel. It stores nicely and takes little space and weight. Used it on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and got a full charge (from 50%) in about 1.5 hours. I have another 30W solar panel that works a little faster, however, this is still a good backup. Great for backpacking or keeping in a go-bag.

So far it’s great I’ve not had an emergency use for it yet but I’ve charged my anker solix a few times to test it and I got near max charging several times while testing. Would absolutely buy another one.
