I bought this to replace an oil pressure switch in a 2003 Honda Pilot.The OEM part requires a 24 mm socket and this part requires a much larger socket.Totally deceptive of the manufacturer to selll a part listed as compatible with cars, for which it is not suitable

I got this oil pressure switch to replace a leaky switch on an older Honda Accord. After removing the defective switch and comparing, I don’t think this is going to work. This oil pressure switch is quite a bit larger than the OEM switch removed from my car (see photo). The OEM switch requires a 24mm socket for removal and installation. This switch needs a 27mm socket. Functionally, the size difference isn’t a problem as long as the thread sizes are the same, and they seem to be. The issue is that the rubber boot that fits over the OEM switch is too small for this aftermarket version. The boot is part of the wiring harness and is difficult to replace even if I could find one that’s the right size. To use this oil pressure switch with my car, I would have to cut off the boot entirely and leave the switch unprotected from the elements. This is not an acceptable solution.
