Great replacement for Toyota/Lexus techstream. I have a 08 Lexus GX470 that needed abs/brake bleeding and i didn’t have access to a laptop to download the techstream program. I looked around for options and seen this pop up so i gave it a chance. Works great and its really easy to use. Launch for the win!

Excellent scanner for new Mercedes Benz vehicles. Upgradable for multiple vehicles. Scans all systems. Gives detailed trouble codes with problem definitions. Clears codes and resets systems. Probably does more that I haven't used yet. This one paid for itself by clearly diagnosing a TPMS code, resetting the module (cannot be done from the vehicle menu) and restarting the system. Guessing would have turned into an expensive parts swap. The tire store could not do the reset. The dealer could have done the reset, but would have charged for time at their labor rate.

Was able to reset PCM and Throttle Position value using this tool on my '05 Honda Pilot after replacing the Throttle Body. The full report was helpful too, and I was able to clear TPMS, and VTM-4 codes as well.

It connected to wifi and updated all its software. One thing I don't understand is why it updated all other car brands software on it, even it actually only support Benz. Nevertheless, I connected it to GLC OBDII port and it automatically detected VIN and ran diagnosis. It came back with a full list of report with few error codes that I did not even noticed. I cleared the code with this tool. The purpose of purchasing this tool was to allow me to register a new battery. When buying a battery for GLC through dealer cost $500, Costco and Amazon could get same spec battery for less than $200. The difference is the labor and battery registration that requiring a special tool. This tool fits for that purpose. Under Mercedes, then advance search will show all the special functions that including battery registration. Great to have it.

Looks very professional. To bad I cannot use it. It will not connect to wifi. It requires a connections for updates. Without it , you do not have access to any other features.

This device did something that I was told only a dealer, or a $1000+ dealer level product would do. I replaced the factory navigation / audio unit in our 2005 CLK500. All went well, with one exception...in the navigation equipped cars, there is no manual way to set the clock in the instrument cluster, as it gets a signal from the GPS, which is no longer there. Searching the net, I found 2 'solutions'...the first was to pull and replace the clock fuse at noon, which is the default time. This works, but it's not entirely convenient, and has to be done at least twice a year, just to keep up with daylight vs. standard time. The other solution was to have the navigation option 'coded out' of the cluster using the Mercedes SDS diagnostic system. This means a trip to the dealership, and whatever they charge (if the would even do it), finding an independent shop with SDS (same issues of cost or willingness), or buy an SDS system...which really means piece together a bunch of bits and pieces to build an SDS clone, as MB doesn't just sell it to anyone. Well, I now know of a 3rd solution, and that's this device. In less than 5 minutes, I was able to tell my car that it no longer had a navigation system, which brings up a 'set time and date' function in the normal vehicle settings menu. It will also allow you to properly code and initialize SAM's...another thing normally reserved for SDS shops or investment. And all this is on top of its very solid ability as a high end diagnostic tool, capable not only of reading and resetting codes, but also the ability to read datastreams, actuate individual components, and so much more. And at this price...wow! I paid almost this much for an Icarsoft unit that only does a fraction of what this unit does. And as if that wasn't enough, this unit is for Mercedes, but via the Launch online mall, you can purchase the ability to work on other manufacturers vehicles.

The first thing that caught my attention and appreciation was the design of this Scanner. It has a great handle to it when working on the car. The size is also great for a better view of the screen and navigating through the settings. The scanner is very fast when it comes to navigating through the settings, ECU coding, reading codes, updates, getting help from the internet related to searching for help on specific codes, and downloads for upgrades to the software! This tool has helped code unwanted malfunctions my Benz tells me about whenever I turn on the car such as Teleaid not being available for older Benzs that do not have that activated. I was able to program to tell the car how many gallons of fuel I have in the tank rather than just only seeing how many miles I have left till empty. Dont buy the other Benz scanners from other companies, except for this one.

My 07 mercedes clk 550 has bi xenon, self leveling headlights with curve illumination that weren't aimed properly. The scanner could do HRA (headlight range adjustment) module actuations to temporarily test the headlight aiming and a zero position reset which partially improved the issue, but once I tried variant coding in an attempt to reset it to default factory settings the lights just aimed down and stopped responding to my scanner. I now have an error code saying the headlight range adjustment module isn't coded. It identifies the correct variant when I read the coding on the module, but the code is still there and clearing the code doesn't work. The initial issue was that the low beams were zeroed much lower than the high beams were, but there's was no way to manually increase or decrease the zero in this scan tool.
