It's a little cumbersome to deploy and is a little bit wider than your standard mid-size sedan's windshield. If you have anything hanging from your rear view mirror or have a large infotainment screen that protrudes upwards, it can make it awkward to deploy. Or it may be in the way of the umbrella handle.I like the idea of it as being relatively quick to deploy, but the handle being so large brings it down to barely usable and not much more convenient than your standard folding shade. It is high quality and compact for those with cars that are compatible. It didn't fit well in a 2013 Camry or 2023 Lexus Rx350. But it worked well in a 2013 Dodge Caravan since it had the space for it.

It’s easy to open and close, made from thick material, and feels strong and sturdy. Picture showing it on my Honda Van.

I got this for our Ford CMax. It is slightly big for the window, but it will still work fine with the visors pulled down. It’s a little hard to open up if you’re too close to the window. It needs a little space for it to open. I really like the way it folds up like an umbrella. It fits back in the outer case easily. It is nice and compact for storing in the car.

I love how easy this is to just pop up into my windshield. Really useful and easy to put away as well.

3/16/2025 review of the DooGooCoo Windshield Sun Shade Umbrella for Car.What a clever idea to make a sunshade in the form of an umbrella. The shade is purchased for use with a 2019 Nissan Leaf. The shade is about 2 inches wider than the front windshield and about 1 inch taller. While the fit isn't perfect / custom, it's so close that it fits so much better than its predecessors, both the accordion and the round flap that you bend and fold.Getting started takes a little bit of figuring out but after deploying and storing it away a couple of times, it becomes very quick.Quality and workmanship is excellent. For convenience, I find deploying and collapsing of the bend and twist type fastest. But this umbrella shade I can also be setup quickly. For storaging (while we're driving), this umbrella shade is the easiest. Once collapsed, simply slide it into the cup holder on the driver's side door. Can also act as a rain umbrella if absolutely necessary.Highly recommended and hoping this will last.

I have always struggled with the type of sunshades with flexible frames that you have to fold up...if you're able. So this seemed like a good idea. I will admit I didn't measure my windshield as directed (I'd still suggest you do so) and this is a tiny bit big. But I have a really old car (2005) and will soon be getting a new vehicle, so I'm pretty sure it'll fit fine in a slightly larger vehicle. Even though it's a tad big, it's still definitely usable and I look forward to using this in the summer where we have nearly tropical weather where I live. Definitely a great item!

It's only March now, but in the southern regions, the car seats start to get hot after noon. When I bought my car, I specially chose a white one, but even in March, I have to turn on the air conditioning in advance when driving out in the midday sun. This front windshield sunshade is very convenient and easy to use. If you put it up on the windshield the night before, you don't need to turn on the cold air in advance when driving the next noon. It's extremely useful, and the foldable design makes it very easy to store and doesn't take up much space.
