The bird's back can be opened with a zipper to place catnip, but only use catnip that is sealed in a porous bag (e.g., a teabag). Do not use loose catnip inside the toy, as this can damage the mechanism.
The toy bird will flap its wings and make sounds only when the switch is in the "on" mode. If you find the toy bird noisy and it affects your rest, such as at night, you can turn off the switch.
Warning:The bird's body can be cleaned, but the internal mechanism is not waterproof. Please remove the mechanism before washing the toy.

The bird is about the size of two fists (beanie baby sized) making it scary for my cats. I think they would have a hard time getting it in their mouth. It's a heavier cat toy and I was concerned it would hurt if I swing it near them. I think if your cat is into stuffed animals, they might be into it. I am grateful they allowed me to return it. I loved the videos of the cats enjoying the bird. Mine just looked at it, sniffed it and walked away. The box includes the charger cord, elastic string, instructions and a ring to attach the string to, to hang the bird.

Bird is too large for them to even pick up, let alone watch it flaps it's wings & chirps. Send back. My 3 catswatched it for 5 mins. & walked away.

So originally I bought this for my dog but she had absolutely nothing to do with it. My 5 year old granddaughter absolutely loved it. We bought a “birdhouse” for her to put it in. She took them home with her and takes it everywhere with her lol. It is really cute though I never thought of it as a kids toy!

Arrived quickly in perfect condition. My cat has already figured out that it will hold still until he attacks it again, but it does hold his attention longer than a ping pong ball.

The touch activation works perfectly , every time he taps it, the wings flap and it makes a realistic bird sound that gets her instantly excited. I love that it has 3 speed settings, so I can adjust the intensity depending on her mood. The fact that it’s rechargeable is a huge plus (no more wasting batteries!), and I appreciate that it’s made with chew-resistant material.Highly recommend!!
