We moved to a new house, so I wanted to get an idea of how our water quality was looking. The item comes with 10 test kits, each in its own sealed package. You put a drop of water in each window to measure different factors. The first pack that I opened did not include a dropper. I didn't think to look in another test pack, I just assumed they weren't included, so I took a turkey baster and attempted to make a single drop come out. It didn't work well; I flooded the test and I'm sure I contaminated the test with turkey. I re-tested with a second pack and it included the eye dropper, making things go much more smoothly.I'm happy with the test, but qc somehow missed a part in one of my kits.

Description specifically states this test gives results for rust. That’s what I am testing for & the reason I bought these tests. HOWEVER, RUST IS NOT LISTED ON ANYWHERE ON THE BOX OR INSTRUCTIONS.

I'll update this review after I've tested our water under a few different conditions. Next time, I'll take a picture of the kit in use. But, it is exactly as pictured. The listing is accurate. This is a nice kit.We have a lead pipe feeding into the house, so we only drink filtered water. I was super relieved to see the level of lead showing up as essentially undetectable in the water coming out of the refrigerator's dispenser. I'd recently replaced the filter, so I'd have been mighty alarmed if that hadn't been the case. I fully expect to see detectable levels of lead when I test our unfiltered tap water. All other parameters seemed to test around what I expect to see, based on the water reports I can download for our water supply, so I'm reassured about the accuracy of the tests. -Btw, a quick google search will turn up the results of water testing of your local supply (unless you're on a well). I recommend getting your hands on that information, if you care about other parameters besides lead and/or just want confirmation that the kit is working properly. The kit itself is super easy to use and just feels like its a quality product. Nothing cheaply made here. Frankly, it feels more substantial than any of the covid test kits out there. A lot easier to use too. Each of the 7 tests comes in its own foil pouch that includes it's own tiny little dropper (its so cute!). They do include a test tube if you want a container to use to fill the dropper, but really, you can use any clean container. You just fill the dropper and add one drop into each well of the test, wait 30 seconds, and then compare the colors to the chart that's included. It really is easy peasy. I'm a lab/science/homebrewer/salt water aquarium guy and have used a ton of different colorimetric test kits. This is just about as simple and fool-proof as it gets. The only way you can screw up, is if you wait too long to read the result. Results are supposed to be read between 30 and 60 seconds. TBH, I didn't notice much color change when it went on for a few minutes, but I'll pay closer attention next time. I suppose you could take a picture of the results, so you can pour over the details at your leisure, rather than having to read it all in 30 seconds. I was really only focusing on the lead, so I didn't care if the others ran long. But, if you're wanting to know the result of all the water parameters, I'd suggest taking a pic. 30 seconds isn't really enough time to compare all the testing parameters with the chart. Now that I'm thinking of it, I'll definitely do that next test. Heck, being kind of OCD, I'll probably take a few shots over time, so see if the results do change if it goes long.If I had to gripe about anything, and I'm reaching here, I could wish for the chart to be larger. It's sized to fit, unfolded, into the box and the box is on the smaller side.I'll be following up with additional tests on our tap water, unfiltered, first thing in the morning, as well as some tests later in the day. I also want to test our water filter's performance, as it's approaching time to replace it, so I can reassure myself that we're still good. I specifically chose this test kit because it contains more than a single test. There are other test kits out there, but a lot of them only seem to include materials for one single test. I don't get that. I may not need ALL 7, but I guarantee that I'll end up using them, as I test various usage scenarios and different faucets around the house. We have a small child about and the peace of mind that this gives cannot be overstated.Anyway. Great kit. Super easy to use. Absolutely recommended, with a capital A.

Okay - first off, please understand that I am not a chemist and I have no independent means of verifying the efficacy of this water test. That said, I can report that several of the nine measures did change in my decidedly un-scientific test: I used one test strip to measure our tap water and then another test strip after I replaced our whole house scale filter. Also, I used one test strip to test the filtered water from our refrigerator and then another to test that same source after changing the refrigerator filter (which was overdue for a new filter!)In both cases the measurements of the nine changed for the better. I take this to mean that even IF this test strip isn't a perfect test for the specific item (hardness, a specific mineral or element, etc.), then at least the strips are capable of showing relative improvement/degradation. For that reason alone I would recommend these test strips. Why? Because even IF the test isn't giving me a precise 'score' for each element tested, at the least the tests show me the impact of a new filter and can inform me when it is time to change a filter. Given the inexpensiveness of these tests, I think that's a fair enough gauge for me.

Great test kit and very convenient. Has instructions and also has fresh dropper in each test this way they don't get mixed up. I've tested it with and without filter and in multiple locations and it shows good accuracy. I ended up actually buying two more packs even though I got the first one to just test it out. Great and do recommend for self testing. You will get reading results within a minute. I keep the dropper and vails afterwards for other fun activities once the kit is used up.It tests for lead, chlorine, PH level, nitrite, nitrate, and few other things that can be harmful for you. And if you are not sure what you are drinking, I highly recommend you get it tested this way you are not poisoning yourself!Getting 7 packs to test 9 in 1, definitely worth the money!
