Raised my pool's cyanuric acid level as expected. These granules melt slowly over several hours and are large enough so that they don't go through my skimmer basket. I added a few pounds at a time directly to my skimmer and let the pump run. After ~8 hours (the temperature was about 60 degrees at the time), they melted completely. I prefer this method to adding them directly to the pool, which then requires laborious brushing so that they don't sit on the plaster for an extended period of time. Note: The other option is liquid, which is MUCH more expensive.

I think it's a great kit. It's very easy to read and accurate.

The item arrived quickly and it was easy to use and accurate. The instructions were a bit small for my old eyes, but they were easy to follow. Having never done this test before, I found it easy to figure out how much conditioner to add after doing this test. It only took a little bit of the reagent, so it looks like it will last me for years.

It seems fairly.Accurate but save the money and take your sample to the spa store and test for CYA

This is a very accurate test for CYA. Just be sure to follow the directions closely. It always gives me the same reading as my pool store when they do my water test.

The product works as advertised and I believe probably more accurate than the Taylor K-2006 test kit for CYA. This kit uses about 4 times the volume and therefore less susceptible to small differences in sample size. The downside is you are also using about 4 times the reagent.

I have a 16x4' above-ground frame pool and in researching how to maintain pool water, I came across a convincing site saying all you need is liquid chlorine bleach, conditioner, and test kits for both.I bought this test kit for the conditioner. The test works like it says it should and seems to work for the pool water. I'm on my second month with this "system," and I'm happy with the results.Easy enough - like five minutes once a month to confirm you've got the right level of conditioner to allow the bleach to do its job.
