Your cart is empty. The LM386N-1 are power amplifiers designed for use in low voltage consumer applications.
The gain is internally set to 20 to keep external part count low, but the addition of an external resistor and capacitor between pins 1 and 8 will increase the gain to any value from 20 to 200. The inputs are ground referenced while the output automatically biases to one-half the supply voltage.
The quiescent power drain is only 24 mW when operating from a 6-V supply, making the LM386N-1 ideal for battery operation

These can be used for a lot of purposes and the sound quality is decent. I bought these to use to build guitar amplifiers and overall I have been satisfied. Not the greatest sound but rather decent for the price.

I used these to teach about breadboarding a simple audio amplifier for guitar. The class did a "little smoky" small guitar amp, and will do a number of other derivative amps like runoffgroove's "lil gem". When they fired the first build up, they got instant feedback (literally). The amp started to squeal. They learned as much troubleshooting that squeal as they did doing the initial assembly. The cause was having the input and output leads too close, and the leads to the input weren't properly dressed, being too long and not having any noise rejection, neither shielded or twisted. We also learned about "noisy" power supplies, and super and sub sonic instability leading to distorted sound. All in all a great starter ingredient for a fun afternoon.

Received 20. All passed unit test @ default gain and drove a speaker. They were shipped loose in a bag and not a tube, so many had bent pins. Acceptable trade-off for the price and intended hobby use.
