Like some of the previous reviews, has too much play when clamping down on a valve, but you can make it work.

The throat opening could have been 1" longer to fit my 12HP B&S engine valves, but I struggled to make it work. Also the forked end @ the pivot point would go out of square when I tightened the handle - I had to add a shim to secure it @ 90 degrees, between the fork arm & the throat arm. Otherwise OK.

One small screw fell out, tended to slip die to poor fit and design.

worked for my 1955 3hp Briggs, I had to compress the ends together a little to fit the spring right. Not sure if I would use it for something that needed to be strong.
