Absolute necessity for us big folk who purchased rollerblade wheels. When I decided to change the wheels to something that rolled better and didn't screw up the floor, the cheap plastic legs broke within a week. These legs are metal and much shorter so together with the 3" rollerblade wheels, they can better handle my weight (300+ lbs).My annoying office chair that kept screwing up the tile floor was as sturdy and smooth rolling as ever before.This is definitely worth the buy if you're a larger person especially with those larger rollerblade wheels. The angle on the rollerblade wheels is very steep and will cause a cheaper plastic base to break.

Everything is near perfect. Very strong and great quality.I only have one issue, the included wheels do not attach very easily. Only 2/5 would attach properly. I plan on using different wheels anyways so it's not a huge problem for me but it is worth mentioning.

Wanted to keep my current office chair after the base cracked, so I opted for this replacement because it's metal — it's incredibly sturdy and the finish is high-quality. I wish the edges of each spindle weren't so sharp because I like to rest my feet on the base, and now it's pretty uncomfortable (just preference though).Be aware though: not all chair gas cylinders are universal and this base is NOT the same diameter as my chair's original piston. I had to go out of my way to get another one to use this base. Make sure you have a 2" gas cylinder before buying this.

The only way this could be nicer is if it came with those rollerblade-style wheels. It's very solid and went together easily.By the way - don't be afraid to REALLY whack your old stool base with a hammer to get it removed from the cylinder. I work on cars so I know how to hit things with some authority, and mine needed it... I ended up using a dead-blow hammer to remove the broken plastic base from my stool.

What we expected was a metal version of the plastic stool base that had broken at the wheel retainer, but this is WAY better. The unit is not comprised of hollow bulbous struts, but T-shaped armatures that don't >ping

Chairpartsonline is a great seller. Aluminum replacement base is very sturdy, much better than original plastic base. Original plastic base had cylinder slippage (2 different chairs) over time, cannot happen with this aluminum replacement. Wheels are standard dual plastic. The wheels do need some force to install, but they will not come loose. Installation is a breeze if you remove the original base from the chair by removing the cylinder clip, which then allows you to hammer just the outside case of the cylinder away from the old base. YouTube videos on how to change office chair base make the job very easy.

Would NOT recommend. The item is smaller than expected. Does not seem like quality for the price. When I sit in it the wheels make an annoying popping noise. Going to have to buy a different one.
