Overall a great manual burr grinder for coffee beans. I wanted something that was more quiet than an electric grinder while also delivering a consistent grind. This achieves grinder achieves this at the volume I require.The instructions for this product are mostly in Japanese, but thankfully this grinder is easy enough to understand how to operate. You need to hold the grinding knob or central screw in order to adjust the coarseness dial. You have a about 3 complete rotations to the left before you pop off the dial completely as if you were going to take apart the whole grinder to clean and service. On the dial, add 10 to every turn past 12 to follow the gauge settings that seem to be listed in the instructions. I wish the instructions on how to take the grinder apart to service it were clearer... but if you pay attention when you dissemble it, reassembly is simple enough. Careful not to drop or ding the metal cylinder. The slightest deformity could make it hard for a smooth turn of grind knob or removing the grind container. Simple enough to fix with plyers if the deformity is not too great.
