Having worked with a lot of tools, holding this finely crafted coffee grinder and turning it to make powder, this thing feels more like an aircraft grade piece of equipment than a kitchen (or camping) appliance. Precision fitted aluminum work you hold, with stainless interior burrs produces very uniform coffee powder of a fineness you determine (pay attention to the instructions, esp the Bold parts!) I wouldn't want to use this for catering or in a cafeteria, but if you're making a dozen cups or less I think you'll find this Grind a very satisfying addition to your coffee making routine. (If you think an electric spice grinder makes fine coffee grounds, this may not be your cup of tea... Or give this a try - and see and taste!)

I thought buying a more expensive grinder would assure that it was better, HAH! I grinded that thing for a few minutes and nothing came out, tried grinding in the opposite direction and it lock up tight. Nothing! Ten minutes later I'm headed to the Whole Foods with my return.

I had to admit I was skeptical about a hand coffee bean grinder. This works wonderfully. I bought this over other models because of the steel grinding burrs and ratings. Easy to turn and grind the beans. I actually made too much ground beans and will adjust for future cups of coffee. The ground beans worked great in my Aero Press and the coffee was fantastic. I took apart the grinder to clean the burrs and two washers came out. I consulted the picture on the instructions but the washers were not included in the picture. Once I figured out how to reassemble the grinder it was a breeze. That, I would say is the only small problem is the picture could have included the washers. Other than that, this will definitely be on my trips with my Aero Press to will ensure I will always have the perfect cup of coffee.

Took a bit to get this grinder dialed in, but once done it works great. Be sure to read and follow instructions about the "clicks" of the wheel vs the numbered designations in the little chart in the instructions. For my Breville Bambino Espresso machine, after various settings, once at the Start Position of the grind setting (where you can't turn it back any further), then going back 8 clicks was what worked best for me. Took close to 3 min of grinding to get through the beans - my test coffee was a City roast - no oil showing on beans. The grind was very consistent, and with a little more muscle this grinder will work for Turkish coffee. Don't be tempted to turn the handle counterclockwise.

This portable coffee grinder is an excellent quality. It's solid and somewhat heavy. Assembly is as easy as attaching the handle. It grinds fairly well too. However, what I don't like is that it is very difficult to properly adjust the grind size.There are basic instructions included in the box but they aren't very helpful. The settings are sketchy as there are a variety of different sized dots as well as a circular number pad similar to a combination lock.Maybe it's me and I'm doing something wrong, but I made several attempts per the instructions to change the grind size to fine so that I could make espresso. No dice. Regardless of how I turned the dial or on which setting, the grind results were the same: medium coarse suitable for a standard pot of coffee. The coffee brews as normal which is good.Despite the difficulty in adjusting the grind size, this portable coffee grinder is really nice, and it does grind the beans well enough for a pot of coffee so I'm giving it four stars.
