I read all the information. When it was delivered, I reread it to ensure I didn't miss the fact that it wasn't assembled in the description. You know what? Nowhere does it say it doesn't come assembled. Does it sound ridiculous for me to assume it's assembled? I don't think so, considering we bought another one (we had no choice) that was, in fact, assembled. The kicker? The pieces are too heavy to lift. Even if I break the box, it's impossible to assemble without a forklift or some other type of machine to lift the pieces to put them together.Naturally, you'd expect it to be a very heavy piece of equipment, so that doesn't surprise me. It surprises me that you have to put it together like a transformer.Seriously, don't buy this unless you have other heavy equipment at home, and even then, you still have to hope it works properly. Can you return it? Even if you pay shipping? Apparently not. So now we have a 2 thousand dollars lawn ornament.

Right away the log stripper (which is supposed to remove a log stuck on the splitting wedge) crumbled while trying to remove a log. It was an 8" diameter piece of ash, something a quality splitter should have handled with ease. Full Boar/YardMax refuses to fix it under warranty. Save your time and money. Buy something else.

Just assembled this log splitter. The directions are excellent, first rate. It is a significant task to assemble, but any experienced DIY’r should be able to accomplish it with a helper and ordinary tools (other than a 32mm socket for axle nuts a ordinary set of sockets and wrenches will suffice). It actually went together quite quickly (2 to 3 hours). Although I had trouble filling the hydraulic fluid. Had to use a small siphon hose to move fluid from a 5 gallon bucket to the splitter reservoir. It took 20 hours to gravity siphon. The reservoir fill tube is very small. The machine is beefy and has thick metal construction. The tires are rated for highway use (up to 45 MPH). Along with the hitch and vertical use capability, it has all the right features. I expect it to be durable and long lasting, assuming the welds are clean and the hydraulic connections are secure.

I got one of these from Lowes not amazon but mine came disassembled. That's not an issue for me as I have many pieces of equipment being a contractor by trade. I assembled it according to the instructions. It was very easy to put together and the engine was all together. All I had to do was bolt it down to the splitter platform, hookup the hydraulic hoses and fill the engine oil with the provided oil. [hydraulic oil did not come with it]. After all was completed. I have not been able to keep it running. Over many months of trying to find the issue. I finally called the warranty department and had them send me a new carburetor. I'm currently still experiencing the same issue. The engine just won't stay running.I have cleaned the carbs many times. made sure the gas was clean. [used in other equipment and purchased new]. I also had to different certified mechanic's look at it and none of us can figure out the issue. The engine will start and run at high idle for a couple minutes and then just dies and will not start back up until it sets for a long time. We have looked into overheating, filter issues, seals etc... and nothing resolves the issue. All in all, I'm very disappointed with this nonrefundable purchase. It is not made of quality.
