Kind of a pain to install, but it does the trick adding new life to broken ladders. Reasonably prices, and well machined. Definitely try installing a set of these first before ladder hunting, provided you have thenecessary tools.

The bolts by the plastic mechanism keeps getting stuck on the ladder itself when trying to extend and retract the ladder.

It was easy to install and works well but it was missing a nut and other parts were loose and almost falling off right it of the box. Double check it before putting it in and make sure that the bolts and nuts are tight. Otherwise it's a good replacement.

This is a refit kit for adding positive locking to your Werner extension ladder. The kit comes with two step locks and an assortment of installation hardware. You need to remove the original step locks from the ladder. Then you mount the new locks and maybe drill a couple holes depending on your ladder model. Now the ladder will positively lock once extended. The ladder steps will not skip off the locks and collapse. I installed mine in no time and enjoy the heightened sense of security that the ladder will not slip and I'll come crashing down.Would recommend these to anyone.

These are great replacements for an extension ladder with broken locks. The locks on my extension ladder were going bad and were not as springy as they should be for smooth operation and these really helped fix that problem. They are very springy and react well enough to lock perfectly every time.

I had a broken flapper but figured just replace the whole thing wasn’t the same exact size but I just drilled new holes and it works good. I’m happy with the quality well made for sure comes with two new bolts drill out the out rivet's.

The Werner ladder I have had a broken spring on the lock so I got this kit. First impressions were good. The lock looks identical to the one on the ladder.While the kit looks nice there are a few problems with the installation kit. The instructions say to install lock nuts on the 10-32 and 1/4-20 bolts. There was one 10-32 lock nut, two regular 10-32 nuts, and the 1/4-20 nuts were not lock nuts. Also the flippers that allow you to lower the ladder were missing nuts. (Circled in red on one of the pictures.)Since all I needed was a spring, I removed the plastic washer holding the 1/4-20 bolt in the lock and took it apart to the get the spring. I then removed the bolt on the ladder and replaced the spring.If you plan on using this kit, make sure you have 10-32 and 1/4-20 lock nuts.Also, the kit has you remove the spring tension bracket on the ladder but I think it's easier to remove the 1/4-20 bolts from the ladder and the new lock then install the new part by sliding the bolt back in the ladder. Just make sure the spring is located correctly.

I had a broken latch on my extension ladder and it was a real pain to use. As you see in the before and after pics it looks just like the old one. I did not remove the old mount because it was not bent or broken so that saved me from having to drill out the rivet and bolting the new one in place. Installing the new lock was easy unbolt the old one remove and install the new one with new spring and new bolt. I’m glad to have found this because now I can use my 28’ ladder. I would recomend this for sure.
