Took this little ball head on a recent vacation attached to a small carbon fiber travel tripod. Worked perfect for holding my phone and small camera. Locked down tight and performed as well as some of my more expensive branded ball heads. Would recommend and buy again.

For my smaller camera This works great. But would not recommend if you have a bigger pro camera unless tighten full force. It is nice size low profile.

The ArtCise Low Profile Ball Head is a solid, well-built and sturdy Little Tripod Head. Moreover, due to its aluminum and plastic fabrication, it’s light, especially for a tripod head that will hold the seller’s asserted payload of 22 lbs.The Artcise is designed with an external clamping system of the ball, as opposed to the internal system of the classic Arca Swiss Monoball Heads. The base of the Artcise that encloses the ball is the clamp itself. Pressure on the ball, controlling degrees of dampening and securely clamping, is controlled with a single lever. The Artcise Ball Head is designed with all the right stuff. It’s Arca style clamp and QR plate make it versatile, allowing quick switches between cameras that have an ARCA plate attached. All three of the supplied QR plates have anti slide-off pins on their underside. The feature I most appreciate is that when the head is tightened down, it doesn’t move, even with considerable force applied, it stays securely locked. Other ball heads I’ve used never quite tighten all the way no matter how much force is applied to the locking knob. The tightening knob, within a small range, will act to vary the dampening of the ball’s movement; the amount of pressure applied to the knob determines the dampening to a greater or lesser degree. For convenience, the spring-loaded locking knob can be pulled out and reoriented if needed. The QR plate clamp adjustment too is rock solid: twist open slightly and the plate can slide back and forth between the pins; once tightened, it is locked. To remove the plate, loosen until it detaches. The lower knurled knob, that locks/unlocks the rotational azimuth, also provides a secure lock of the movement when tightened. Let me reiterate that the fact that the controls of the Artcise act precisely and firmly is the feature I most appreciate about the head, and where so many others fail. And it’s those attributes that instill in me the confidence to lock down an expensive camera and lens or video rig and walk away from the tripod without fear; that is a testament to the build quality of the Artcise Ball Head and something I don’t take for granted. A new, untested piece of equipment (or assistant) that fails, can be very costly.A couple of other features include a bubble level under the QR plate and another at the end of the knurled tightening knob. In addition, there are calibrated scales on each side of the Arca clamp and a hash mark on each side of the QR plates that allows for clamping it back to a previously noted position.I haven’t found anything I would to criticize about the Artcise Low Profile Ball Head; Artcise has been on my radar for some time now, and they didn’t disappoint. In my opinion, it has been thoughtfully designed with all of the features that make its use convenient and accessible within an on-set workflow. The Artcise 28mm Ball Head is supplied with not one, not two, but three Arca style QR plates. Two of the plates are 44mm (1.75”) and one is slightly longer at 51mm (2”). Provided with each plate is a lanyard that fits on an open rail on either end of the plate. Furthermore, the Ball Head is also is delivered with three 3/8” to 1/4" adapter screws that fit into the head’s 3/8” mounting threads, if needed. And if that weren’t enough, the head is supplied with a very nice, padded, string-closure storage pouch. The Artcise 28mm Low Profile Ball Head is a compact, built to last, secure, professional quality tripod head. And for all its features and inclusions, a bargain.

The most important thing to know about this ball head is that it is small. It's so small, in fact, that I questioned whether or not it was actually arca swiss compatible. Good news, it is. I question just how much weight this little guy will handle, although the construction leads me to believe that I'll be able to crank down on it if needs be. And the tiny arca plates that it comes with are great to keep on hand, tucked away in your bag, or in my case, I'm using one on the side of my cage for my r5c so that I have a vertical mounting point, the plates small size making this not an issue. The horizontal rotation has a nice drag to it, as though it is a fluid head, and the duel slots for going vertical on the ball, are a great addition. I don't think I've ever seen that before and was quite pleased with the extra slot. All in all, a great little head for lightweight applications.

I got this to modify my Bog tripod. I opened the package and only the head was there. None of the listed hardware was in the package. I didn’t need the extra stuff but someone who does gets hosed. That is the reason for 3 starsOther than that, it works well. It will hold my 22LR, which weighs roughly 11lbs, just fine.

I purchased another manufacturers product (Tripod w/ head) and was unhappy with the quality of the ball head so I returned it. I started looking at another manufacturers tripod (a familiar to me brand) but didn’t like the head they were offering in the kit so I researched a bit and decided on legs only. I looked at various manufacturers ball heads but I needed something that wasn’t too expensive and was higher quality than I had found so far. I stumbled upon Artcise and thought they looked right but I wasn’t convinced they’d be any better than what I’d seen. OMG they’re great. They’re every bit as good (so far) as the larger more expensive ball heads I’ve used and owned (Really Right Stuff, Arca Swiss, Linhoff, Foba etc). The panning is smooth, the ball moves very smoothly, the finish is excellent and it’s a cute little thing (28mm ball). The only thing it’s missing is a dampening lock for the ball. It’s either tight or lose not much in between. For it’s given use I think I can live with that. I will try the slightly bigger 34mm because the base will fit the tiny set of legs I purchased better but I’ll keep both. This may be my go to brand in the future for larger tripods and of course recommendations to friends.
