Ok, so, I plugged this in backwards for a project I was working on. The polarity was written down, but, I had it installed upside down and backwards so I got confused I guess.In any case, you'll find that the machine will kind of pulsate. Like, I had fans, hard drives, computer, etc all tied to this same 12V system, and they all pulsated every half second, doing nothing, of course.Upon reversing the polarity back to the intended poles, the magic white smoke began pouring out of this little unit.After clearing the air with open windows, I proceeded to install the second one of the two pack with the correct polarity. The rest is history.So what did we learn?I learned I'm a dunce, and I'm glad it was a two pack.

Just works. Used these extensively for my custom LED Christmas lights to generate 5v power for my custom WLED ESP32-S3 based controllers.Voltage is accurate and consistent. Design is quite durable.While it's bigger then a bare buck converter module, you can basically throw this thing in the mud and it will still work, plus it's potted, so that's good for resistance to the elements.

Was using a standard voltage regulator. This works much better and doesn’t get hot like the regulator.

Works perfectly. I use it for my under lighting on my cabinets because I wanted to add a cool effect at the end of it that was previously a USB device. very satisfied.

Used these for some ridiculous small electronic stuff in an endurance car for converting 12v to 5v for an ESP32 and its accessories to run off. Works great, gets a little warm but it survived the entire endurance race so it’s got 5 stars from me.
