Our cat, Cheetos, is having self grooming issues and keeps developing terrible mats. He's a good cat who will let me from him but it's so hard. I thought these would have some special design not really visible in the pictures but they're just very sturdy steel combs with different teeth patterns. They do help but they're not a magical solution, sadly. They're a good size and very strong. They're not super comfortable to hold.

From my wife: This pack of two combs are heavier than I expected them to be when I saw the picture. For my medium haired cat, the teeth aren’t as close as I would prefer. My medium haired cat doesn’t get mats, but he needs combing to get the loose hairs out. These combs are so sturdy.

This is the best type of comb to use for cats with long fluffy coats like Persians and ragdolls. Also in double coat dogs. The combs are able to go deep in the fur and pull out loose undercoat. You receive two combs with this set. The combs are identical. They are expected size for this style comb. They come in a hard plastic disposable packaging so you can keep one and give other as a gift.

I have a few short steel combs hanging around my house as I have 3 long haired kitties. One is good, one is garbage (I should just get rid of it). This set, both are good. I've never used a longer steel comb and I thought it would be great for my persians. But it almost is too long, the shorter one works much better. The longer one would be great for dogs with really long hair I think.

These combs are thick an sturdy so they don't bend or break while combing out matts. The bristles are varied so as you get hair untangled you can use the more narrow bristles to get it out even more. Overall, a good value for two of them in varying sizes.

These come in a set of 2 - one is larger than the other - has longer teeth for longer, thicker-haired dogs. They are very sturdy - they'll last forever. They work well for the purpose they are intended.

These combs are very solid and have a nice, quality weight to them. The metal is shiny and the individual tines are very solid and won’t break off easily. It combs my golden retriever’s long hair easily. My dog is very nervous about any grooming tools but she adjusted to this one with little fuss. I think it’s a good value for two quality combs that will last a very long time.

These seem like good quality items, but every pet is different and the teeth on these are too far apart to do much for preventing fur problems. This would work pretty well for matted fur but we keep that from happening so I wasn't able to try it out for that.
