I wanted the comb to help detachment my dog's fur. It did that quite well and also did a good job of removing loose hair deeper in her fur. I use it first, then her brush.

I bought this comb for my mom's two cats that have thick fur. It's easy to comb through and get all the loose fur off of them.I definitely recommend.

Great comb for de-matting a dog, and working out knots. Tends to grab ahold of the hair quite well. Too well occasionally, according to my husky. Discovered this'll get out fleas if you have them, and ticks too. BUT, don't use this on ticks, it won't catch the head and you don't want a tick head burrowed into a dog's skin or yours.I'm using this mainly for tight areas to comb out on my husky since a rake is pretty aggressive. She tolerates it only so long because it doesn't relent when using it as a comb. Keep that in mind. Otherwise?Buy with confidence!

THE COMB WORKS FINE JUST LIKE IT SHOULD WHEN THE HAIR IS NOT TOO THICK BUT AS SOON AS IT COMES ACROSS A THICKER SECTION, THE HAIR GETS CAUGHT ALONG THE DARK COLOR MATERIAL STRIP THAT IS HOLDING EACH METAL ROD AND THEN IT IS VERY HARD TO GET THE COMB AWAY FROM THE HAIR AT THAT POINT... SO YOU END UP PULLING LOTS OF HEALTHY HAIR RIGHT OUT OF THE ROOTS AND IT HURTS. I WILL ATTACH A PIC TO PROVE THIS AND POINT AT THE DARK COLORED STRIP WHICH I BELIEVE IS CAUSING THE HAIR STICKING PROBLEM. IF ANYONE WANTS A SIMILAR COMB THAT WORKS REAL GOOD, THEN TRY INSTEAD THE "JW PET COMB"

Strong comb, easily removes mats and tangles but be aware to use a dematting solution to remove stubborn mats or simply cut them off. This comb is sturdy enough to have but if used alone without care it can hurt your pet and we don't want that. This comb works perfectly on my Maltese hair and the ends of the steel comb are rounded so it doesn't scratch or rake my pup's skin. If used properly, combing everyday it will easily manage my pup's hair and I like that but best of all my pup loves it and doesn't run away .
