Racoons ate through the top of my plastic bird seed bin so I had to up my game. I bought a galvanized steel bin and got these X-Partner straps to lock down the lid. Good luck getting to my seed now racoons, you'll need it lol 🤣Heavy duty straps with strong chrome brackets. The bolts are also very beefy and have a fluted head which fits snug and flush into the bracket hole. Place the washer and nut on the back side. Don't follow the video instructions from the QR code included with the product, which have you placing the washer directly under the bolt. Nope, the bolt will not sit flush then. Also, I used my angled die grinder to cut the excess off the side bolts so they don't rip my seed bags. This is a really nice product that solved my problem. Highly recommend.

These straps were very easy to install. I live in the mountains in Georgia and have to worry about critters getting in the trash. I don't think they'd keep a bear out but they certainly work for raccoons.

I am reviewing X-Partner brand trash can locks, which at the time of my order were $15.99 for a pack of 4. We don't have bears in our area, but we do have VERY high winds, which tend to blow open our lids and then the lid lets the can catch more air, which knocks the cans over. I got these and install was very easy. Some tips: Star by making the strap as short as it will go and use that to measure where to drill your holes. This way if you trash that sticks out of the can, you can loosen the strap and still lock it closed. Also, start with the lower hole and position it somewhere to where it won't poke into the main part of the can and tear your bags. Our cans have a few raised lips at the front middle, so I put the screw through that area so bags can't catch. Then you can line up the top hole wherever it lands.Overall, a good quality kit. Subtle touches like a bevel inside the eye hole of the strap means the screw snugs down inside and sits flush. Even just one strap per can is plenty given how strong these are.
